driving though old Tingri we were concerned as to where we would be staying the night as the The town is pretty dismal so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the gate leading into a "coral " type courtyard. A number of basic rooms facing into the yard. The locks on the doors required great patience The beds... More

This very offside hotel, or should I say as it real name is, Everest Snow Leopard Guest House, is a cozy place with all hotel standard measures. It could be difficult to reach since it is located in Tibet, but if you in to a visit to MtEverest Tourist Base Camp, this is a good start. All rooms has their... More

We reached the hotel sometime abt 5pm from EBC. There was no electricity. We were told that the electricity may come back on later. It and the hot water appeared abt 7pm. Yay! Other than that, the floor was dusty and dirty. No slippers provided. The bedsheets and pillow cases were stained. The additional comforter in the cabinets were badly... More

I expected pretty bad, so my expectations were met. We stayed here in order to be closer to Everest for the morning drive than New Tingri hotels were. The road to Everest that is closer to New Tingri was closed so we had to use the road outside of Old Tingri. We were in the newer rooms that run along... More

Well, my experience was similar to everyone else. First, the views of Everest and Cho Oyu are stunning. The staff are friendly and the restaurant was adequate (few choices but clean). The room itself was nasty. With EBC being closed, and it being November, I don't think they were expecting to have as many guests as they did. There was... More

Ok, so you will only be staying here if you are on a tour. It is grim there is no doubt. The rooms are freezing, there is no hot water. Strike that, no water as you get a bucket when you check in to flush the toilet. The electricity only comes on in the evening. We persuaded the owner to... More

The review about “switching on survival mode and switching off the complaint button” could not be more appropriated when traveling around Tibet and Nepal. I am not saying there are no good hotels but there are not many options and depending on the city you go, it is expected to have no electricity, no hot water, no locker… The Hotel... More

When you want to travel in this part of the world you have to switch on survival mode and switch off the complain button. You have to be a bit lucky with the room you get , some are like the pictures on top taken by tourists but some are also better. If you hope to take a warm shower... More

Horrible guest house. Dirty, old, stained pillows and linen, uncomfortable beds, doors without locks, TV did not work. I could start a zôo with the animais we found in the room, coackroaches, flies, mosquitos and other unidentified flying objects. The bathroom was disgusting, even though there was warm water for a couple of hours. The egg fried rice we had... More

We stayed here one night after leaving Everest Base Camp that morning. We were on a tour with 18 others. This was undoubtably the worst guest house we have ever stayed in. Locks on doors of every room faulty restricting access. No electricity, during day time, candles required for bathroom at all times for light. Most toilets, either did not... More
