Firstly besides the breathtaking view of the mountains and camping at the foot of them. Glen Reenen's campsites at Golden Gate is one of the most beautiful campsites we have camped at. Bathrooms and facilities are really kept clean and maintained very well. Staff are very friendly and a nice touch is that even though you might use your own... More

Our guests were informed by reception of an outstanding amount which I didn't appreciate, why not phone me to tell me about this amount instead of approaching our guests from abroad. It was conservation fees that reception failed to calculate correctly. Chalets were average, really nothing special. Not suitable for small children, there is an extremely dangerous cliff face right... More

We stayed here with a group for hiking, but you can do only short hikes or a longer hike that is really steep down (a bit dangerous, though beautiful), you can do a game drive (but not very special) but you are not allowed to walk there, the landscape is stunning, especially with the sun going down, the houses are... My parents booked a family chalet for our visit to South Africa, upon arrival it was dark and late, we were able to pick up the keys from security which was ideal, upon arrival we absolutely loved our chalet (29) it was clean and comfortable, the only thing lacking was lack of cupboard space in the kitchen, the cherry on... We stayed in one of the chalets No 46. A lovely location with a great out door eating terrace and underneath a magnificent sandstone rocky outcrop. Beautiful views and a spacious suite made this a memorable place to stay in this magical area of SA. We went down to Clarens, bought a couple of massive steaks from the butchery, a... More

We joined the in-laws for some much needed rest time and were blown away by what we found. Our campsite was just above the banks of a beautiful stream and just a short walk to get to the hiking trails. The views we got from our bedroom window every morning were spectacular. Staff are really friendly and look after the... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a Longdavel of the Glen Reenen Rest Camp. The room was clean, bathroom with shower spacious. DSTV was convenient for viewing in the evening. Negatives:More kitchen utensils could be supplied. Servicing of the unit is poor, the cleaner only pitched up at 12h40, while we had our lunch. Why cant she come in the... More

I recently stayed at the Glen Reenen Rest Camp with the plan to do some bird photography. The Restcamp is surrounded by majestic mountains and the afternoon sun makes for spectacular scenery. The Longdawel I stayed in was well equipped and clean. Beds were comfortable and I enjoyed the stay. The unit is true self catering with stove, microwave, fridge,... More

The campsite at Glen Reenen is one of our favorites in South Africa. Situated under large shade trees on the banks of the Klerk river, and under the shadow of mushroom rock, an awe inspiring red sandstone edifice, the setting is unparalleled. Sites are large, flat and grassy, but best of all is the new ablution blocks. They are clean,... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the self catering part. The family cottage was oke, it might have been a bit to big for just the 2 of us. The main things were available, fridge, tv, kitchensupply, braai although it would have been nice to see some detergent. As the store only had larger bottles for a month. And there... More
