We arrived late last Friday night having been at the opening night of the South Uist Folk Club. Morag was so welcoming despite our very late arrival and the rooms were perfect. Warm, comfy, super clean with everything you needed. The house is situated very conveniently at the roadside and easy to spot with the 2 caravans outside and good... More

A big thank you to Morag and Alistair for a lovely stay. We really enjoyed our weeks stay. Received a very warm welcome. A great base for exploring the island. We stayed in one of the caravans which was very comfortable with everything you need including access to wi if which was most useful. This was our first visit to... More

Our visit was too short - only one night. This time a cycling holiday. Next time maybe a bit of fishing. Welcome was first class, Room perfect. Food great. Most of all the special ingredient that is island hospitality. Going to South Uist? This is the place to stay.

Thank you for a lovely stay at the Lochside Cottage. We really enjoyed our 2 nights. A great base for exploring the island. Our hosts gave us a great welcome on a wild day and it was nice to be shown up to our cosy attic room. We had good breakfasts and enjoyed meeting the other guests. We could also... More

We had 10 blissful days in the highlands of Scotland and I must say that the jewel in the crown was South Uist and our short 4 day stay with Mr & MrsMacDonald at Loch-Side Cottage Bed and Breakfast. The initial welcome that we recieved from Morag and Alistair was truly like returning home. Both prepriators take a great deal... More

What a lovely place. We stayed at Lochside cottage as part of a 4 week trip around the west coast of scotland and the western isles. We received a very warm welcome from Morag with tea and scones. Our room was very nice and cosy. It is a shared bathroom but that is no problem as there are only 2... More

Two really nice genuine people. My girlfriend and I have been traveling the Outer Hebrides for two weeks on a motorbike hoping to camp. The weather has been absolutely horrendous and we have been forced to abandon our idea to camp! On one particular day we were so wet all our camping gear and clothes were soaking and we needed... I stayed with Mr &Mrs MacDonald for 4 nights. A warm welcome on arrival with a complimentary pot of tea. The room was a double which was off a high standard with cotton sheets for comfort. A hearty Scottish breakfast was served in the morning, which set us up for the day. Whether your visiting for fishing, sight seeing or... More

We had a very nice stay here for three nights; they were very helpful; good rooms and good breakfast; everything was okay! The cottage is situated at a nice lake and the gardenroom has a beautiful view over the lake.

We were cycling the Outer Hebrides and this was our second night. We arrived a bit wet and after drying off we were shown into the lovely conservatory and served coffee with pancakes covered in jam, there was also a huge amount of biscuits if we'd wanted. We were so comfortable in there we could have sat there reading all... More
