This house is conveniently located within walking distance of the Lochboisdale Hotel for evening meals. Rooms are adequate with ensuite bathrooms. Breakfasts are good with adequate choice and good homely cooking. Owner is friendly and happy to give advice about the island. Would recommend this B and B as a convenient location both in terms of the short distance from... More

Due to bad weather our ferry was cancelled, and Bra Lea came to our rescue. Greeted by Patsy with a very friendly welcome as we came in from the pouring rain. A comfortable, clean and warm room awaited us. Patsy was very helpful and arranged a reservation at the local Loch Boisdale Hotel for dinner.

We stayed here for two nights. Everything was clean, comfortable and breakfast was good. We watched a bit of TV in the common room. A local hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the property. The food there is unremarkable but it is about the only choice. It's easy enough to access if you are touring South Uist.

Only had one night here and it was quiet and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was ok too. It's about a 10 minute walk from the nearest hotel which serves evening meals. Comfortable enough but honestly, nothing remarkable. Probably would not return

we went to Brae Lea House as it was advertised as wheel chair accessible. We also phoned ahead to check this. As a 75year old disabled person I could NOT have propelled myself up the steep slope. The bathroom had a bed so close to the door that I could not get in easily. There were no grab rails in... More

The write up for this B and B as well as a phone call assured us that it was wheel chair accessible. Yes there was a slope by the back door but any chance of self propelling was out of the question as it was too narrow and very steep, much too dangerous for pushing down. Corridors were dark narrow... More

Was a bit sceptical reading reviews after booking & can only say any negative ones are so wrong. We were made most welcome having travelled 62 very wet miles by cycle. Owner showed us to room & offered to dry out our gear for us. Bed was very comfortable. No boiler or heating pipe noises ! Room itself spacious for... More

We stayed here for two nights last month. Our first impression of the place was an overpowering smell of plug-in air fresheners both in the corridors and the bedroom. The next "surprise" was toenail clippings in a bedside locker left, presumably, by a previous guest! The bedroom was furnished well but a bit dark (the window was too small for... More

We had a reserved welcome to this B&B. Our room was a reasonable size but was in need of some refurbishment. The ensuite was very cramped with the WC rammed into the basin - not easy to use even when you are average height. Shower appeared to be a recent addition as the decoration hadn't been completed. There was little... More

Stopped here whilst on a motorcycle trip with a pal. It is a large, spacious house with large rooms all on the ground floor. A large car park and a nice lounge area with TV. The host, Patsy is perhaps a little reserved and we didn't find out until later that there was wi fi etc. Nice breakfast. Overall would... More
