A peaceful retreat that acts either as a relaxing escape in the countryside or as a base to explore the Umbrian and Tuscan countryside. Your host Luigi is a kind gentleman in every sense of the word and has created a little haven in the hills. The rooms are nicely appointed and spotless. There are little extras like bottled water... We spent two days in this beautiful hotel. The owner Mr Protti, his family and the staff are incredibly firendly and accommodating. The place is in an ideal location for exploring Tuscany and Umbria. The breakfast in probably one of the best we have ever had with a selection of fresh fruit, homemade cakes, cheeses, etc and their amazing panoramic... More

The last reviewer is obviously not an aficiando of all the reasons one retreats to the hills of Tuscany for a few days because we found this place to be a perfect gem. The directions for driving are exact & we had no problem finding it from the autostrada. We stayed for the remoteness & solitude so we could unwind... More

Nice location but isolated. Felt like a captive. Food good but menu same --every night--No variation. Opened window in stuffy room--wind blew lamp off table--tried to charge us 150 Euros for broken lamp. many rules--not comfortable No high speed internet--Allowed to use hotel internet --used only acouple of hours--charged 80 Euros by manager owner--management greedy, arrogant and incompetant

We stayed at the San Pietro for three nights in June. The hotel has a breathtaking view of the valley nestled between olive groves and similar classical Tuscan properties. The food was sensational and service was second to none. The small number of rooms and guests make this a true relaxing getaway. This truely was a superb hotel ideal for... More

In all my years of travel I have been in some good and bad hotels and B&B's. Relais San Pietro would have to rank as one of the best. If you are looking for a great base in the Tuscany, hire a car and stay in this great family run farm house. The people are warm and friendly, the food... More

Small, clean, quiet inn.The proprietor is a true gentleman who works very hard to make your stay enjoyable. The food, both breakfast and dinner, is first rate though the menu is smaller as you would expect with a hotel of this size. Out of the way, but not inconvenient location. The pool is very private. There are incredible views. The... More

This is a wonderful place to relax and unwind in Tuscany. Upon arrival as you drive up the mountain you are greeting with beautiful flowers and a rose garden. The rooms have lots of character and very nice. They are clean and comfortable. The pilows are flat however and we needed to use our bath towels underneath for support. There... More

Absolutely delightful!!!! A tranquil and relaxing setting overlooking breathtaking views both during the day and at night. Impeccably clean with meticulous details. We enjoyed the lovely small touches like fresh fruit and flowers in our room each day. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable! The only problem was the noisy air conditioner which we had to use because of... More

I’ve just stayed at the most idyllic hotel in Tuscany, and wanted to share my find. It’s in southern Tuscany, not far from Arezzo and Cortona, but it’s right in the countryside, on a small hill overlooking the most beautiful landscape. The nearest town is Castiglion Fiorentino, which has a train station, but I would definitely recommend hiring a car... More
