A charming hotel with about 10 rooms all differently decorated. The owner Mr Protti was very nice and welcoming and provided helpful tips on where to go and how to get to the nearby historic towns. The home made breakfast with traditional cakes, focacias, local cheese and freshly squeezed juice was a delight. The staff very always very polite and... More

Wonderful place and incredibly welcoming and charming hosts. The owner Mr Protti is a real gentleman and his family and staff could not do more to make our stay truly unforgettable. We only regret we spent just the last two nights of our trip but we are planning to go back hopefully next year!

A delightful establishment in a quiet wooded area some 6km east of Castiglion Fiorentino. More suited as a base for exploring the area (or reading a book) than for a quick stopover - we ourselves stayed four nights. Car essential. Great attention to detail with well-furnished rooms, nice bathrooms and excellent mood lighting (we were in 'Peonia'). Housekeeping standards were... More

Not so easy to get to, but worth the effort, Relais San Pietro is a restored complex of farm buildings bought in 1994 and restored by the owner, Dr. Luigi Protti, who speaks excellent English. When you arrive, you find yourself in a beautiful valley in southern Tuscany, just north of Cortona, surrounded by verdant hills all around. With accommodations... More

We had spent 3 wonderful days with my wife in this hotel under the care of signore Protti and his kind and friendly staff. It was the overall relaxing atmosphere created for us by the owner which we really liked. The place, the people, food, wine, breakfasts, dinners all memorable. The place is special. Hotel is standing on a small... More

We loved this place...the delicious food, the amazing views and the friendly staff made our stay unforgettable. There are plenty of towns and places to visit nearby (a car is advisable). We will certainly go back!

The best meal I have had in Italy. The seasonings were perfect, the ingredients superb, the taste astounding! There is no way to put into words the exquisite meal and service. It is something you must experience for yourself. The rooms are interesting, but worth the gamble. The views are wonderful and the staff is well-trained and attentive. I cannot... More

Everything in the glowing reviews I've read before choosing this particular hotel is true. The location, the service, the friendliness of the owner/staff, etc. etc. However, the most basic service a hotel of any number of stars, even zero stars, is expected to deliver is hot water in the shower. This we did not get during our recent two-day stay.... More

Dear Jrk, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Relais. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the lack of hot water during your stay. That was indeed caused by a problem occured in our plumbing system that took our plumbers few days to fix completely. It is a new system but... More

Sitting on the terrace of the Relais San Pietro with a glass of Tuscan red, surrounded by flickering candles and watching the sun go down over the Val di Chiana is one of my all-time favourite memories. Perched high up in the mountains it is a superb old building in a truly magical location. While the views may be rustic,... More
