My wife and I spent two weeks exploring Rome, Venice and Tuscany. Our 5-day stay at Casa Portagioia exceeded all expectations. The lodging is immaculate. The grounds absolutely beautiful. Terry and Marcello were the perfect hosts assisting in dinner reservations, guidance to local attractions and advice that made our daily excursions an exciting experience. Breakfast was far beyond what one... More

We were gifted with a week's stay at this beautiful villa and we found it even lovelier than shown on the promotional or from our friend's recommendation. The accomodations---room, delicious breakfast in an outdoor area, flowers everywhere, great dinners twice a week, lovely location for exploring historic sites--enhanced by two great hosts, Terry and Marcello. They showed wit, humour, intelligence... More

(5/14/09 to 5/1609) I just stayed with my partner at Casa Portagioia... what a place! The property, nestled in a Tuscan valley, is absolutely stunning. The red poppy fields along the way brought my partner very fond memories of his childhood in Europe. The striking pine-lined road to the house complex is pleasing to the eye. Terry & Marcello welcomed... More

My husband and I loved our 2 short days at Casa Portagioia with the incredible hosts, Terry and Marcello.....just wish we'd have allowed more time to enjoy the beautiful property and surrounding areas. We will definitely plan more days the next go round! The grounds and views are spectacular, the rooms beautiful and the food was the best of our... More

The self-contained apartment was perfect for my husband and me and our adult daughter. While we had our own excellent kitchen, we couldn't resist the beautiful breakfasts prepared by Marcello and his exquisite pastries every morning. Terry and Marcello were the most gracious and knowledgeable hosts, providing indepth advice on our daily excursions and giving us insights into life in... More

What a delightful experience from booking through a wonderful three days to departure! Terry and Marcello are warm and friendly hosts who provide both an Italian and British touch to their smart, immaculate and professionally run guest house located in the beautiful and tranquil Chio valley conveniently close to superb scenery and quaint villages. I stayed at CP for 2 nights on my own. I had a wonderful time. The grounds were beautiful, and a wonderful vineyard was being planted. My first day was spent lounging by the pool staring up at clouds and looking at the inspiring landscape. The second day was rainy and spent mostly indoors in a fantastic and comfortable room.... Terry and Marcello made our stay so memorable by their attention to all our needs. They kept us all entertained and very comfortable, well fed with true italian dishes, arranged our car hire, advised us on places to visit and provided us with superb local wines and oils. Our stay was all too short, but we hope to return again... More
