If you close your eyes and picture the perfect Tuscan Villa, it would be Casa Portagioia. It was easily the highlight of our 5-week trip through Italy and Spain, and it exceeded our expectations. The villa could not have been more beautiful; the setting was stunning; the gardens, magnificant; and our hosts, Marcello and Terry, were totally delightful. Terry helped... more

This B&B really is as good as they say. Terry and Marcello make every effort to take care of their guests, give advice, make reservations, entertain with stories, cook good food, and create a fun and welcoming atmosphere. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Not only tasteful, Terry and Marcello really know what they are doing as hoteliers. There's plenty... more

Italy has cast it's spell and its heart is in Casa Portagioia. Imagery of photos, while beautiful, cannot capture the true beauty of this place, as it is a multisensory experience. Songs of the nightingales, cuckoos, swallows and moving music at breakfast....touches of warm illuminated breezes and puppies offering their cheery affection. Smells of jasmine, roses and lavender wafting through... more

I'm not easily impressed but Marcello and Terry have a gem of a place here. The room was spacious and and impeccable. The bed linens were top of the line. The windows have screens and wooden shutters so you can let the country breeze in. The swimming pool was sparkling blue. Great water pressure and upgraded bathroom. Marcello cooks a... more

Our stay at Casa Portagioia was short but in that time our hosts were friendly, helpful and curteous. The room was excellent: clean and finished to higher specification than one usually finds in Italy. Marcello and Terry provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and are more than happy to help plan your trips to local wineries, historic towns or local restaurants.... more

As with everyone else - we have to agree that this is truly the most perfect place! We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Casa Portagoia. The hosts, Terry and Macello are fantastic - so knowledgeable about the surrounding area, and always happy to help out. Nothing is too much trouble for them - it's like you're staying with... more

Stayed three beautiful days and nights. Room was modern but with the rustic charm of an Italian countryside villa. Bed was the most comfortable ever for a bed and breakfast. Hosts were very welcoming and quick to provide for any special needs or requests. Breakfast was delightful looking over the Tuscan countryside. Can't wait to go back. Would highly recommend.... more

If you are going to Tuscany, stay here. The accomodations are lovely, set amongst vineyards, olive groves and manicured grounds. Terry and Marcello are wonderful hosts, gracious, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed every minute at Casa Poragioia and our only regret was not booking here longer than 4 nights. We'd love to return someday for a longer visit. more

We stayed he back in September last year, was amazing. Terry and Marcello, were so helpful and friendly. The apartment we stayed in was clean, quite and more like a five start hotel. The local food and wine they serve is of an excellent standard, just wised we could have stayed longer…. It is perfectly situated for trips to Florence... more
