The Best Bed and Breakfast in Italy is the Casa Portagioia. We stayed there for our 5th time last October 2014. The Casa has everything you'd ever want in a B&B. Someone called it is the best " Boutique Hotel" you will find! It has a great location, just north of Cortona and Sourt of Arezzo just outside of Castiglion... More

having had our friends sing praises of Casa Portagioia, we decided on a weeks stay in early October with room Grilandi with views of the courtyard and olive groves Beautifully appointed room, super comfy beds and lots of care to detail and comfort The grounds, even in October still boasted hundreds ( literally ) geraniums and other sumner plants -... I am late, but being back in italy reminds me of our wonderful time at this amazing piece of tranquility. Very comfortable, clean, spacious and a real sense of calm. Healthy breakfasts, long lunches overlooking the olive grove and a little tuscan village in the distance, the grounds full of color and fragrances, vines and just everywhere a better view... More

We spent 10 days at Casa Portagioia. a most glorious retreat. Tucked away on a hillside with breathtaking views and serenity. The property is most beautiful and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. Our hosts, Terry & Marcello were amazing! They made us feel right at home immediately and were so attentive to... More

Not easy to add to all the other comments except to say that this was the most comfortable, clean, welcoming place we experienced during our two week trek in Italy. The four nights here was like finding our " best friend's home" in Tuscany and, being made to feel very special without a single plastic smile. Attention to detail -... More

My husband & I spent 9 wonderful days at Casa Portagioia at the end of Sept. Having read all the rave reviews on tripadvisor on & off for about 2 yrs, I was a tiny bit concerned that Casa Portagioia could not possibly live up to such high expectations. But immediately upon arriving & having Marcello greet us so warmly... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Casa Portagioia in early October and plan to go back next year and stay for a week. If you want to be in the hustle and bustle with lively nightlife this is not the place for you. If you want to enjoy the countryside, going for lovely walks, within a short drive... More

This is our fourth stay at Casa Portagioia and NOT our last!! Terry and Marcello are the BEST hosts you could ask for in a B&B. We love them both and honestly, they are the main reason we keep coming back. Yes, the rooms are beautifully furnished and very comfortable, and the pool area is so inviting, and the breakfast/dining... More

If you consider the beautiful Tuscan countryside a place you wish to visit, then the choice is Casa Portagioia. Owners Terry and Marcello, with their combination of warm hosiptality, marvelously prepared food, wonderful service mentality with a sprinkling of humor, have created an environment which any traveler would fall in love with. You can tell that the slightest detail has... More

Spent three nights at the Casa within the last week. We were honored to be the final guests of the season. The grounds are beautiful. Our apartment was spotless and well furnished. Housekeeping was good. Best of all, Terry and Marcello went out of their way to be helpful- dinner reservations, taxi service and sightseeing advice. We were made to... More
