Stayed one night en route between Carcassonne and UK. In a secluded location and very quiet - definitely a 'Relais du Silence'. Best described as a restaurant with rooms. Our ground floor room was very clean with comfortable large bed and nice bed linen. The restaurant served excellent food and wine. Friendly staff. Didn't try the pool - rather cool... More

Spent one night in a large room with private terrace. Room newly painted and clean. Although bathroom outlook is somehow outdated and tiny, all did perfectly work with no bad surprise. Important to note there's no restaurant around except the one in hotel: a good choice for dinner. Some may think it's pricey, however this was my second best experience... More

This was a delightful hotel with its own outside pool. The restaurant is very good with some interesting and very tasty things on the menu. Our room was spacious, airy and bright with a bath and a shower, and its own outside terrace. The charm of the hotel is increased by the visit of the wild beavers. The old mill... More

Nothing special but perfectly OK. Certainly quiet but a bit surprising to find it under the Relais du Silence banner. More like a decent Logis de France. Friendly management. Bedroom not huge but comfortable enough, bathroom quite well equipped. Pool pleasantly warm. Dinner on the terrace enjoyable. Comprehensive breakfast buffet but milk still in its cardboard pack indicated general level... More

This was easy to find : it was well signposted, which always helps. Despite it being 14 Juillet (Bastille bank holiday) we were warmly welcomed by our host and upgraded to a better room. The pool was bliss after a long hot drive. It is really a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel as such so were not expecting... More

When you find it, the Moulin is perfect for a relaxing break. It is a very attractive place in rustc surroundings and the rooms are a reasonable size and well furnished though the bathrooms are small. There is a large pool. There's a chateau nearby and attractive villages. The fod is served with style but it is expensive and portions... More

This is a charming small hotel set in an attractive garden in the quiet Berry countryside just outside the small village of Bannegon. The present owner has embarked on an extensive programme of upgrading the bedrooms during the last two years and they are now furnished to a high standard of quality and comfort. Four of the rooms,on the ground... More

We were very well received and the room was agreeable with a small terrace overlooking the garden. We were well received and the room was clean and spacious and fairly priced. Negatives were that the bed was too small and not very comfortable and real pillows would have been preferable. Breakfast was a bit do a disappointment and we had... More

We used to stay in this hotel regularly on our journeys through France and this year we went back after an absence of several years. The management has changed - the hotel and restaurant are now run by the same people, unlike before. It remains a very quiet and peaceful place and our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed... More

To start with the positive, the room (number 9) was ideal. Not modern - the bathroom shower had an old- fashioned mixer tap in the bath, for example - but nice and light, airy, and comfortable, and very quiet at night. Wifi even worked there, although we had been told it wouldn't. The garden is lovely, and the swimming pool... More
