This is a pleasant hotel/restaurant set in a typical English village. Our food was very prompt and hot. The braised beef in red wine was delicious but I had the scampi and chips which I am afraid to say was not the best, scampi was ok but the chips didn't taste very nice! I will say though all the staff... More

Have just returned from our fourth stay at this superb hotel. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm, staff are welcoming and helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, and the food magnificent! It sits in the heart of Easingwold facing the market square and is ideal for a twenty minute journey by bus to the centre of York; the bus stop is... More

Stopped in at The George for dinner by chance when out and about in Yorkshire and we both had as good a meal as you could hope for anywhere. Nice portions, creatively presented and completely delicious, I had the Lamb, soft and yummy, my dear wife enjoyed the Chicken breast with Ham hough. Compliments and respect to chef !

Pleasant pubby hotel in a nice location. Glad that we had a room in the main building as I didn't like the position of the rooms in the car park. The room was fine although the bed was a bit soft for our tastes and I think they could update the bedding. Good choice of breakfasts and we appreciated the... More

Stayed in Easingwold to attend a wedding and found The George on a couple of websites. Loved pretty much everything about the place. It was easy to find, being right in the centre of the village and had free parking once we got there. Check-in is just to the side of the bar, which was busy with a lot of... More

We're Yellabellies tha knows! Takes a lot to praise a Yorkie now... BUT Easingwold is delightful, clean, picturesque and has every facility. Likewise The George where we enjoyed a great four poster bed and en suite with large bath and separate shower for an amazing price. Knocks spots off the Four in a Bedders. Service was precise but a bit... More

Warm welcome. Friendly and caring service. Clean warm rooms - or cool if you prefer, with electric fans provided. Comfortable beds. We think all rooms probably have a bath and shower, but do check if this is important. Delicious food, freshly cooked, and in decent quantities. Good value wines and beers. Log fires. This hotel is right in the centre... More

Took the wrong turning and ended up coming through Easingwold so decided to eat here. We both had the gammon, egg & chips and it was excellent. Lovely pint of real ale too, well kept. Glad the sat nav took us the wrong way.

Characterful 18th century inn offering good standard of accommodation and food/drink in the busy market town of Easingwold. Great base for touring North Yorkshire with good road links. Most staff were very polite and friendly, especially Kay, who was the perfect hostess. Would be happy to return for a short break to this hotel. Just a shame that you can't... More

Had a lovely weekend break for valentines. Rooms lovely, had one off the car park at rear out of the main hotel- very nice accommodation, with very comfy bed. Excellent bus service on the door, had an enjoyable day in York without the Hastie of driving/ parking. Hotel staff all very freindly- nothing too much trouble. Thank you for a... More
