Best value for money of the 5 different hotels we stayed at in portugal, from Faro to Porto. The grounds are quite large and well restored. The rooms are good – only minus was the noise from the air conditioning – even though we had turned it off. You can spend the day exploring the house and gardens – or... More

Well worth staying in this splendid baroque palace. It is one of Portugal's most beautiful and best baroque palaces in the Dao region. The hotel is located not so long in there. The owners still inhabit their Palace a number of weeks per year. The hotel is then closed. The gardens are laid out great. The established in the Palace... More

Rooms are large and comfortable. But the staff is not very friendlily... polite... but you don’t feel very welcome.... also in the common areas... they need to be more clean! Too much spiders.... The building is fantastic.

There are so many stories about palaces and ghosts. At Casa da Ínsua, this beautiful palace dating from the 18th Century, with an impressive baroque façade and lovely gardens, we didn't find any ghosts ... but, despite being a "trés charmant" hotel, it lacks a soul, a humanized identity. We found the staff cold and distant from guests, what should... More

This was one of the best places that we stayed on our 3-week road trip through Spain and Portugal. Well worth having to drive a little out of our way. We arrived after dark and were very wet and tired. The room was such a delight! Huge (two rooms) with a large bathroom. Clean and modern. Comfortable beds. We ate... More

Stayed in the last weekend for a wedding in the hotel. The hotel is great for resting and enjoy of the spaces available. The restaurant is very nice with an excellent quality of food and wine (the wine is made here). The staff are always available when requested.

We stayed here last Autumn for a couple of nights as a short break from a longer stay at our property in the West of Portugal. My husband had stumbled across the Casa da Insua on a visit to the Dao region earlier in the year and was adamant we should go back to stay. It was a great choice.... More

My sister picked this place to organize her wedding. Se could not have done a better choice. The place is amazing and the service was top class. From the ceremony to the end of the night, the staff was dedicated to us making this day memorable for all the guests. I highly recommend this place.
