The other reviews have said it all, excellent advise on wildlife from David and superb food from Joy. Views across the loch to die for and lovely comfortable accommodation. If you get the chance go on the ferry to Ulva and Gometra islands.

Actually rather a special view. You look out on mountains, sea, islands, sun, snow, storms and of course Highland Cattle. David and Joy have built a wonderful hideaway house on the north coast of Mull. It's architecture is modern with a Scandinavian feel and in stark contrast to the very basic architectural style of most houses on the island. They... More

We have been visiting Mull for many years and have always struggled to find good accommodation and restaurants. However, from now on we will always stay at Torr Buan if at all possible. The guest suite is lovely and the views are amazing. David and Joy are great hosts and Joy's cooking is fantastic, with good Yorkshire portions. David's wildlife... More

We had a wonderful week with Joy and David Woodhouse at the beginning of June. The suite was a delight and the food delicious. The view from our dinner table has to rank as one of the most beautiful we have ever had! They made us feel very welcome and part of their lovely family. We joined David for two... More

It would be worth staying here just for its stunning views across Loch na Keal to Ben More, the cliffs of Gribun, the Ross of Mull and Iona. However, it’s also a very comfortable, attractive and interesting house, and you get Joy’s great dinners (with the views) and David’s extensive knowledge of the area and its wildlife. Can’t think of... More

We had four nights of bed, breakfast & 3 course dinner in this fantastic eco-house with stunning views. Joy's food was excellent - quality food, well cooked and presented - and generous enough to make it difficult to finish at times. With just the one guest bedroom, we had personal service when we needed it. Good walks from the house,... More

We stayed two nights with Joy and David and the fantastic weather meant that we got to see their beautiful eco home at its best. They have just the one guest suite (with its own private entrance) which is furnished tastefully and comfortably. It has a small sitting nook (with a wee TV and Sky digibox and info on birds,... Despite pouring rain, we had a really enjoyable day on David Woodhouse's wildlife expedition with a lovely sighting of 3 otters, not to mention sea eagles and the rare merlin. We spent the 2 nights either side of the day trip at the home of David & his wife, Joy, in the one letting room which is wonderfully comfortable and... More

We stayed 3 nights at David and Joy Woodhouse's B&B, though "B&B" doesn't do it justice.. It is a luxureous and tastefully decorated room with a spaceous bathroom in slate, complete with floor heating and shower gel, shampoo etc. of the best quality. The room is adjacent to a large conservatory (slate, floor heating, lazy couch, dinner and breakfasttable) that... More
