We came across this wonderful country pub, about lunchtime, halfway through our walk, (most places being closed) we found a warm and friendly greeting from Rachel Armstrong, the landlady, and a log fire burning in the original cooking range fireplace in the bar. The pub dates from 1836, still has the lovely Yorkshire flagged stone floor, and a 'proper' feel... More

Folk often ask why my reviews are so positive...simple answer is that we are intuitive and discerning...we get the feel of places quickly, we have left places or chosen not to eat simply as a result of the feel of the place and the welcome. Staff at Feversham Arms had no idea that I had been a customer through successive... More

Visited on bonfire night to escape the loud fireworks which terrify our dogs. It was certainly quiet in the valley and a great place to spend the evening with two happy dogs. Black Sheep ale on tap, great portions of food with home made chips and a fantastic warm welcome. Adaptable to my gluten free requirements too. We will be... More

Went with friends who have been a couple of times before, the welcome we received from Rachel was extraordinary, I thought they must have been old friends! We were greeted with a lovely open fire and had a superb lunch with huge portions (hint: ask for a doggy bag if you can't finish it, it's worth it!) I had the... More

Once upon a time I almost bought a house opposite this out of the way pub. Probably just as well I didn't! I would now be as big as a barn door on the generous helpings and delightful meals. But joking apart, this has always been a favourite whenever in the district, so an excuse to have Sunday lunch is... More

We stayed nearby in this tiny place in beautiful surroundings, about 15 minutes drive from Hutton-le-hole. Went for two evening meals at the pub. Nice local pub atmosphere - and possibly the best pub food that I have had. Excellent (very large) portions, very tasty and great value too. Highly recommended and definitely worth a trip to get to for... More

We have just returned from a two day stay & we had a lovely time. The location in terms of a rural idyll & retreat is wonderful. What is it that makes a hotel stay memorable? Well, the welcome was genuine & warm and Rachel was an excellent hostess. We all hanker for a typical English pub for good wholesome... More

I visited the Feversham Arms last June when I was doing the Coast to Coast with Merlin, my 8 year old German pointer dog. Rachel hospitality started when she arranged for a tired man and dog to be picked up from a nearby pub on the route. once settled in, we enjoyed food and company in the bar, followed by a... More

Traditional real ale pub with a friendly landlady. Excellent pub food and lovely views. The beds are very comfortable though the rooms are a bit light on toiletries. Overall a chance to get away from it all in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors..Excellent value.
