Stayed in the b+b which was nice and really good value for money. Breakfast was fab (lovely cafetiere coffee too) and evening food in the bar was excellent. Overall quite a quirky wee place with a well stocked single malt bar and great food. Family run and they were friendly and helpful.

We booked a table - not being sure if it was for the bar or restaurant. It was the bar, which was pretty busy. The barman took orders as well as served drinks so he was pretty busy. We followed on from a big party and so had a long wait for our main course. On the plus side, as... More

We spent two nights here as part of a UK trip. Everywhere we had been in England and Scotland we found warm hospitality but not here. The people were unhelpful and grumpy. The shower didn't work in one of our two rooms, breakfast was not good and two of us left suffering from massive allergy attacks which, luckily abated after... More

Ballygrant Inn is a nice family run restaurant with excellent food from local sources. We had the best Sticky Toffee Pudding during our journey. The whisky bar is outstanding with a great variety. Always a good place for decent food to a decent price on Islay.

8 of us went here for a meal on 26th May 2015 and were hugely disappiointed. The welcome never really came out. It was a cold night but no fire had been lit for us. We ordered our drinks and made our way into the restaurant. The starters arrived, and were well received. The venison steak arrived, we were told... More

After we completed our Discovery bike tour in the Highlands, we stayed here for two nights while we explored the Isle of Islay, and we have no regrets! The Inn is situated in the countryside with farms and fields all around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the little attached pub is really sweet and cozy. The owner is... More

Ok value for money but the place appears that it's been in a 'under decoration' state for a number of years and never quite finished. Nobody there when we arrived, shower caused a power cut which was interesting, we were practically kicked out of breakfast one morning for not having agreed a time. However the pets are friendly, & the... More

Ballygrant Inn and Restaurant makes a comfortable stay with a good restaurant and bar with pool table onsite. Within cycling distance of the port, if a little hilly. Owners are helpful and accommodating. Bedrooms comfortable and clean.

Welcome a bit un-nerving and not very friendly. Not told when breakfast was etc. not told how shower worked. Very poor service, staff non-attentive, looked bored, and looked at you as if you had a nappy on your head if you asked for chips instead of potatoes. This is despite the person behind me having a curry which is not... More
