Great location middle of the island. Beautiful B&B standing on a hill surrounded by awesome views. Our room was large with a big comfortable bed. Wifi worked really well. Carole and Barry were amazing hosts and looked after us really well. There are lots of books and brochures about Islay. Carole has even made a really helpful folder holding menus... More

The rooms are spacious, neat and professionally maintained. 2 of rooms have big windows with wonderful views.. Breakfast is fantastic & Carol who runs the place personally takes care of everyones tastes &... More

Great hospitality, wonderful spacious room, fantastic breakfast and a very quiet location. The ideal location to relax after a touring around and well worth to stay more than 3 nights. I really would recommend this location for traveling the Isle of Islay.

We were camping for a week in Islay and stayed at Ayen Cottage on our first night as we were on the last ferry. The cottage is on a hill and you get a good view of the eastern side of the Island. Had a lovely welcome from Carole and Barry. The dinning table is communal and we were invited... More

We spent two nights at Ayen Cottage in August 2014. We got a warm welcome, Carole has been very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very comfortable, with a special mention to a king size bed. The breakfast was varied and delicious. It is conveniently situated not far from Port Askaig and Bowmore.

We were on a flying visit to Islay, so we arrived at Ayen Cottage late, and left early. We got a very warm greeting on arrival, and Carole took the time to advise us on where to eat, and how to get there and back. Waking early the next morning we were greeted with a heavily laden table and the... More

As soon as we arrived at Ayen Cottage we felt comfortable and at home here. I first approached Carole & Barry through RoomFinderScotland, when I decided to see what the B&B availability was on Islay only a couple of weeks before we ended up travelling. Carole responded very promptly to my email enquiry and I really liked her approach, that... More

We stayed in July 2014 and Carole and Barry made us feel very welcome. Ayen Cottage is up a steep path off the main road which means it is peaceful and quiet with views and just the sound of the birds and cattle to wake you up. The rooms we stayed in were very comfortable and my son was delighted... More

July 2014 saw my third stay with Carole and Barry, and it was like coming home again. This time we were four buddies to share a few days on the beautiful island of Islay. There could be no other place to stay than Ayen Cottage! Islay to us is the Ayen Cottage!!! We wouldn't stay anywhere else! And we are... More
