the location and price is great, right on the beach in Playa Hermosa, walking distance to Backyard bar and a quick 5 min drive to Jaco. However, the room was dirty, giant cockroaches were running around..the sheets were worn so thin they were almost see through. I d sleep with my flops on to kill the cockroaches. the whole building... More

We stayed at Cabinas Las Arenas January 2011. Right on the beautiful beach was perfect for us. Room was large, clean, and comfortable. Had some quite noisy neighbors one night. Restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. We would stay there again. (I do believe that there has been a change in owner/management since January 2011.)

We stayed here for three nights in a private room with a bathroom. My boyfriend and I have been travelling around South and Central America for a few months now and are pretty easy to please when it comes to rooms. However, this place had the potential to be great as it is on the beach and the rooms are... More

there was a big surfing tournamemt held the day of our departure, so we woke up and walked out to witness something really neat, that people from Mississippi do not see much! the people were really, really nice. The food in the two places there was good, fresh seafood caught that day and they made some smoothies for us from... More

We found Cabinas las Arenas at the last minute during the Christmas season when almost everything was booked, so were grateful to find a room available. For the rate, our expectations weren't high. The room was nicely furnished, but being the last guests to book a room there were only three towels available, one of which was pretty nasty. I... More

Owner of this hotel is on site and extremely helpful with any needs you might have while visiting the central Pacific Coast. He not only helped us find Quepo Expeditions for white water rafting but also drove us there and back. The rooms are colorful and comfortable. The restaurant on site has excellent food reasonably priced. WiFi, and a relaxed... More
