I have just returned from a spectacular holiday in HayHoull. I chose Hayhoull because it was near a sandy beach for swimming and was accessible on public transport. The Lerwick to Sumburgh Airport bus passes on the main road which is about a mile away. Then there is a connecting "feeder" bus which dropped me at the door of Hayhoull.... More

Mary is lovely and so helpful (letting me use the phone when I needed it and inviting me to join her in a) a trip to a concert and b) to play bridge ... I declined both but very much appreciated being asked. Nice en-suite bedroom and lovely guest dining room / lounge (with glasses so you take your own... More

Bit of a delay in giving my review of Hayhoull, we visited in January for Up Helly Aa in Lerwick, and were not disappointed. Our first visit to Shetland, and now we want to live there, stunning place!! Hayhoull is pretty easy to find and is around 20 miles south of Lerwick, we drove there from the ferry terminal. The... Mary is incredibly nice, friendly and helpful, and will cook you a beautiful breakfast. The rooms are large and clean with amazing views of St Ninian's isle. We had a lovely stay and can surely recommend everyone visiting Shetland to stay in Hayhoull B&B.

Mary and Les are such lovely people. They made us feel very welcome in their B and B, in fact it felt like home from home. Mary was very kind and helpful and having been brought up on Shetland, she was able to share some customs and stories with us, which we would otherwise never have learnt . Their were... More

Lovely views, very comfortable and nicely decorated modern room and en-suite, excellent food and very friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely lounge/dining area available to guests. Really couldn't ask for more and would definitely book again if in Shetlands. Very short walk to St Ninians Isle and tombolo which are well worth a visit.

Have just returned from my second visit in 3 months to Shetland, and cannot recommend Mary and Les's hospitality enough. Wonderful breakfast, excellent value 2 course dinners for £15, it really is such a pleasure finding a guest house like this, and staying in such lovely rooms in a great location, with such lovely people. When I was over in... More

We can only say good things about this B&B--wonderful hospitality, great breakfasts, comfortable rooms. So peacetul and relaxing. The lounge is very large, comfortable, and has large windows with views over the bay. The location is also amazing. Just a short walk away is St Ninian's Isle and its famed tombolo--jaw-droppingly beautiful. We would highly recommend this B&B.

First time in the Shetlands and a wonderful welcome from Mary and Les. The views were spectacular and local walks were enthralling. Excellent presentation of accommodation and food. Mary extremely helpful with local information and booking us in for tea at the quirky Spiggie Hotel.

My husband and I spent two nights here end May 2014. Every thing was lovely with superb views from the sitting room. Mary very friendly and helpful and lovely food and comfy bed. There is an option for evening meal which, with limited eating places on Shetland an additional bonus.Superb position being near St Ninian's tombolo and Isle. Well recommended
