Pricey but the location is outstanding! Comfortable beds, good water pressure, big tubs/shower combo, no TV in rooms but we just watched the view change from sunny to misty and day to night. We had dinner there (pricey too) instead of driving back down into the valley village. If you book with the Fjord Pass a nice breakfast buffet is... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Stalheim Hotel. Yes, there is no TV or refrigerator in the room and the Wifi is a bit hit-and-miss but who needs it when you can go outside and soak up the majestic view and the beautiful surrounds of the hotel. I loved strolling around the hotel and I could have just sat there... More

Room was fairly basic but made up for by the wonderful, classic ambience of the building and it's many historic artefacts. Everything was clean. Beds were comfy. No issues with wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ate off the a la carte menu - both our fish dishes were very good, especially the salmon.

After spending several nights in the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in while in Copenhagen, the overnight ferry to Oslo and a hotel in Oslo, it was a treat to stretch out at the Stalheim Hotel. My wife and enjoyed our dinner and wandered from one fireplace to another in the hotel lobby afterwards. I woke up early and... More

We arrived from Flam via Norway in a Nutshell and stayed for 2 nights on the 'fjord side' of the hotel. While the hotel is in the process of redoing each room beautifully--we peeked in a few--alas our room had not been started on yet. But who cares, out the window is the only place anyone should be looking. We... More

It's obvious you stay at this hotel for its view, which in a word it's spectacular. After the view, this is where things start going downhill, no pun intended. Let's start with my room. It was a small single room (room 105) with a view of the driveway. I know many rooms have a majestic view of the valley, but... More

...high above the majestic Naeroydal Valley, now on UNESO's World Heritage List, and reminding us of a combination of Lake Louise and Banff in the Canadian Rockies. We were in room 324 (valley view) and room 326 was featured in Conde Nast travel magazine several years ago as "The Room with a View". It is a summer hotel (like the... More

Most amazing view from our trip in Europe. And I stay in most amazing room. I can enjoy the view everytime, both from my room or from hotel backyard. How life could be nicer than wake up in the morning and have a wonderful view from your room while sipping a cup of coffee. Perfect.... Tips : -books your trip... More

This hotel has a great view, but that's all. The rooms seem to be from the 80's, small and narrow. The bathroom have one ugly green color tub. No TV in the rooms and internet is only AVAILABLE in the reception area. Buffet was leftovers from the day before and the breakfast was below average of what expects in a... More

Our nephew had been here and had recommended it. So we made the journey from the Voss station by bus. The hotel is in a remote area and is in a location that is surrounded by mountains and magical waterfalls. All we wanted to do was to have a drink and imbibe the view. There are nice trails outside the... More
