This hotel has a great view, but that's all. The rooms seem to be from the 80's, small and narrow. The bathroom have one ugly green color tub. No TV in the rooms and internet is only AVAILABLE in the reception area. Buffet was leftovers from the day before and the breakfast was below average of what expects in a... More

Our nephew had been here and had recommended it. So we made the journey from the Voss station by bus. The hotel is in a remote area and is in a location that is surrounded by mountains and magical waterfalls. All we wanted to do was to have a drink and imbibe the view. There are nice trails outside the... More

This hotel has unbelievable views of the valley. Service is outstanding and it's accessible via limited public transport. The sun-drenched lounge area is a perfect place to sit down and take in the scenery. However, you get a sense that the hotel's best days were in the 20th century. It has an old world elegance to it that comes across... More

We stayed 2 nights in mid July. Our room faced the beautiful Naeroy Valley. This one of the historic European hotels. It was very peaceful and charming. It took us back in time...no tv or refrigerator in the room. We didn't need them. There is an interesting outdoor museum next to the hotel. The lounge area has a spectacular view,... More

We had a breathtaking view from our room which totally makes up for the hotel being in need of a little freshening up. Lucky one of us knew how to open the locks on the windows so we had the freshest of mountain air and sunshine streaming in. Just fabulous to have a balcony too! The bar area has huge... More

The building is in need of repair. The single room was extremely small. The sink in the bathroom emptied to a drain on the bathroom floor. There were kiddies locks on the window to prevent breakins which also prevented air coming in. No air conditioning. Food was mediocre. They had several tour groups saying at once do there were very... More

We stayed at the Stalheim for two nights in July and it was hideously expensive, kitsch and marvellous all at the same time! It is in a fantastic location and as we had decided to 'pay the price' and book a premier room, we had a view to the front straight down the valley. The room was basic - not... More

I arrived at the Stalheim Hotel on June 18th after my Norway in a Nutshell tour. (The Nutshell package included a tour up to Stalheim, but it is also where my hotel room was for the night. Gorgeous, breathtaking view. Your ears will pop going up the mountain to the hotel. The hotel itself is in between 2 large mountains.... More

The Stalheim is one of the quirkiest hotels I've stayed in. Put the building, the basic rooms, the numerous tour groups taking over the dining room, the poor wi-fi in a city centre location and I would probably rate it a 'Two' but fortunately it is located at the top of a spectacular valley with fantastic views from its terrace... The rooms and food here were good. Getting here on public transportation (bus) wasn't easy, The view is EXTRAORDINARY. We had a wonderful reindeer dinner. We had a Barolo wine with the only reasonable prices we found during our 11 days in Norway.
