We found our experience at the Auberge to be everything we needed and more. Room was clean; very comfortable bed; hot showers; fabulous food with a great wine list coupled with excellent service. Could not fault this hotel and we will be most certainly coming back.

we had, this week, one of those very sweet stays in this unpretentious hotel with a superb restaurant, peaceful setting, and proprietors who couldn't have been more generous....we strongly recommend it. Take a deep breath, look out at the Pyrenees, and David will show you, in the far distance, where to have a peek at the Cathar stronghold, the castle... More

You know you have arrived in a good place when there are 30 housemartin nests in the eaves of the building! The proprietor, an Englishman, made us feel just as welcome as the housemartins! We stayed for one night before driving the short distance to Carcassonne to get a flight home. It was a wonderful location, near Mirepoix, for the... More

This is a great place to stay with a stunning view of the Pyrenees. The owner is very welcoming and helpful. This corner of France around the Pyrenees and centring on Mirepoix is an absolute gem and quiet even in peak season. Highly recommended

I stayed at this hotel for several days in mid July, the hotel is easy to find but at least 10km from the nearest town. The room I had was quite small and very basic, note there are no complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the room which as a seasoned traveller found to be very rare. The room had a very... More

Dear guest Thank you very much for your recent 2 day visit and for your feedback. What a pity you didn't share a SINGLE word of this with us when you were here, so that we could have done something about it. It is not standard practice in this part of the world for hotels to put tea and coffee... More

this is a wonderful place to stay outside of Mirepoix. Rooms are comfortable, parking convenient, food excellent and hosts friendly and hospitable. Look carefully for the sign as it's on a side road off the highway. Well worth the visit in this wonderful countryside. Thanks David and Sylvia. Alice Moerk

Sad to be returning home after a great holiday in Spain, my boyfriend and I went online to find a hotel in the border regions that would accept dogs. As my boyfriend put it later that evening after an amazingly good meal; "Sometimes the internet is all bad, and sometimes it takes you to places like this one..." We had... More

We have stayed several times in the very nice Auberge Balestie in Mirepoix/Malegoude. The food is very nice and the chef Sylvia is always doing her upmost best to please the guests with nice diner suggestions. Her husband David is more visible in the restaurant. He has nice wines on the card, speaks fluently english, French, some spanish and even... More

This hotel/restaurant is in a beautiful location just up the hill from the small town of Mirepoix. The couple that runs the place is extremely friendly. The room was nice and clean, and the view was spectacular. The restaurant prices were a little bit high, but the food was delicious, and they even went out of their way to accommodate... More

David and Sylvia were absolutely delightful and helpful. The setting is wonderful and we had a view of the snow capped mountains from our room. Being vegetarian, eating can be problematic; Sylvia made me two evening meals which were generous and tasted very good even though she said one was experimental!
