Last minute weekend break away - lovely village pub - roaring fire, stone floors (dart board if you like that too!) and great food! (Massive portions) A very amusing Landlord and a land lady that cant do enough for you! Booked a double room - beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. We met a mixture of locals and visitors throughout the... More

We had spent the day following the course of the river Ribble, which runs along the main road through Stainforth, We found the pub, as usual, to be warm with a roaring fire and central heating. We had comfortable surroundings and pleasant friendly local community. The beer is excellent and the food was plentiful, hot and nourishing. Andy and Maureen... More

This was one of my first experiences at a country side English pub. The fire was lit and the beers were perfect for the cosy night we were out for. The food, while plentiful, was tasty. Order from the specials. Owners are so kind and helpful. They put a smile on my face. Worth a visit and experience the countryside... More

What a lucky find . I can't thank Andrew and Maureen enough for making me feel so welcome. My double room is spotless and comfortable. The food was warm and filling. The open fire , well what can you say. You can't beat an open fire. So warm and inviting. It's truly a beautiful place to come if you want... More

The proprietor really needs to make more of an effort. My sister-in-law booked to stay here on Saturday 26 September, some months ago. The accommodation was at my recommendation, however on their arrival they were told that there was no room booked and they were full as there was a wedding party booked in! Simply put; my sister-in-law doesn't lie... More

Stayed here for two nights with my brother-in-law whilst walking the 3 peaks. We had the single rooms and they were very clean and comfortable. The food choice in the evenings was very good and I can highly recommend the Steak and Stilton pie. The breakfast was very tasty and substantial and set us up for our long walks. The... More

Great for booking a meal for all 4 Gold DofE groups before their expeditions the next day. Booked late for 30 people but they still accommodated us fine. The food was nice and the staff were well-organised and handled the extra demand efficiently. Nice little restaurant, many thanks!

The Craven Heifer is right on the Pennine Bridleway and offers a good place to break your walk. I stayed in a single room which was small but clean and newly fitted out, they also accept dogs by arrangement. The pub serves Twaites beer and has an extensive menu. It is popular with visitors and locals . Breakfast was great... More

We had a great stay as a family of 4 at the Heifer recently. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the room we stayed in (room 1) had a king size bed for the grown-ups, a generously proportioned day bed for our daughter and a pull out mattress/bed for our youngest to sleep on. The room was just the... More

Myself and my wife stayed for 2 nights so we could be close to friends staying on a local campsite. The B&B room was excellent; yes it was on the small side but the building is pretty old so you have to work with what you've got. The room was very clean and the view onto the local hillsides was...
