5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Chosen from reviews on here and they were spot on. Lovely couple, very nice rooms (3 in total) and a really warm welcome from Paul and Kathryn. An excellent eating pub about 10 mins drive away, a good night's sleep under the local Alpaca's quilt with a supreme breakfast. Worked out a little more expensive than planned as had to... More

We have stayed with Kathryn and Paul once before so, when planning a trip to do some bird-watching on the Northumberland coast and some star-gazing at the Kielder Observatory, we didn't need to browse for other B & Bs, simply return to their lovely place. And we weren't disappointed. Paul and Kathryn are maintaining their high standards in a lovely... More

Excellent location for Hadrian's Wall and other historic sites. Kathryn and Paul were very welcoming and did everything you'd expect to make our stay enjoyable. Delicious breakfasts with home made bread, and an extremely clean and well appointed room. It's difficult to find fault and, believe me, I'm very picky. Highly recommended.

We spent a few nights at Fairshaw Rigg during February half term (taking advantage of the 3 nights for 2 offer). Everything was wonderful. Delicious breakfast - best scrambled eggs ever according to our 7 year old! Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts couldn't have done more. Paul gave recommendations of where to eat and even booked... More

Many thanks for your "Wonderful" review. The hens remain in good laying form so the eggs could not be more fresh! Glad you enjoyed your stay here so much - and the various places to eat locally - there really is a great choice. We have just had the first cria of the year born so even more exciting times.... We stayed here on Valentines night for a local wedding and despite our relatively short stay we weren't disappointed. A friendly welcome, clean and spacious room nicely furnished and a lovely bathroom. All areas covered from hot drinks in the room, nice toiletries, a mini fridge with water and even alpaca bedding! The peaceful location meant a refreshing nights sleep... More

It's really great to receive such a nice review thank you. Pleased you are enjoying your purchases too. We are expecting our first cria, baby alpaca, of the new year any day - almost as exciting as things must be for you? Wishing you all the best for your new arrival - and thanks again. More

The location is very handy for Hexham and surrounds with no shortage of good places to eat , although you do need a car. However , the peace of the location makes up big time for this . The rooms are really comfortable and have everything you could possibly need . Breakfasts were delicious with a great choice and cooked... More

Delighted to revceive such a glowing review - we really enjoy what we do - we work hard, including the chickens, but its very worthwhile when guests seem to enjoy themselves so much. We are blessed with so much to see and do around here and the choice of good restaurants caps it off. Hope you'll come again soon. More

We booked a two night stay here & loved our time away there. Situated a few miles from Hexham & Allendale its perfect for a visit to either place. The room we stayed in was beautifully & tastefully finished with all the facilities you could want. The beds were very comfy & the en suite was excellent. Lovely hosts &... More

Superb b&b the best we've ever stayed in. Warm welcome, beautiful spacious light rooms. Great breakfast served in the orangery looking out over the hills. All this plus alpacas, chickens, two very friendly dogs and cats made it a perfect stay for us.

I used this B&B for clients visiting the area from overseas and the feedback was excellent a round. Hosts cannot do enough for you and the standards are exceptionally high. Highly recommend Fairshaw Rigg.

Perfect location for visiting Vinlandia and the rest of the wall in that area. The proprietors were super and the rooms clean and well kept. Their advice on restaurants and where to visit was spot on. Parking was good also. Warning; make sure your map or gps knows where Low Gate is. Mine didn't resulting in a little anxiety....
