We had a great time at this resort and would recommend it as a fun, affordable and relaxing visit to Maldives. In terms if luxury, i think there are other, more luxurious islands to visit and would rate it 4 star instead of 5 but still had a great time.

Our visit to Royal Island Resort was amazing. We really enjoyed the 10 days we spent there. We arrived at the end of July and expected that the weather could be unpredictable but we were lucky. It did rain most days but only for a few minutes or at night. The temperature was a constant 31 or 32 so if... More

Went there for honeymoon positive: Amazing resort which still have the savage side, the great fresh food and drinks which is alot better that other resorts, and the nice attitude of employees negative: RATS but it seems that it's the issue in all maldives resorts, anyways they don't come close to rooms or people which is faire enough will deff... Royal Island resort is contained on its own island within the Maldives. We booked as a couple, but the resort also seemed popular with families. The beach villas have direct access to the beach and the shallow reef. I personally didn't see the garden rooms, but probably wouldn't bother booking one as the whole point of the resort is the... We visited Royal Island resort in the first week of June. It is a beautiful property and would give anyone an opportunity to "cut-off" from the rest of the world. The positives about the resort were as follows: - the staff were friendly and they go all out to make you comfortable - the island resort is straight out from... More

This resort is classified as 5 star and the only thing royal about is the name. Rooms totally average maybe even below average. The tv is the old tube TV not even flat screen and tiny may be 18inch. The plumbing is horrible the toilet flushes with grey water looks horid. The food I could not eat call me picky... More

been there with the family to take a short break of less than a week. + nice 'secluded' beach villas with immediate access to the beach (as the name suggests..) + beautiful clean beaches with a great variety of wild life + very nice and attentive staff + proper gym that has been put together by someone who is lifting... We spent 10 days at Royal island from June 6, it was a long trip from Australia but worth every minute. The staff were amazing from the first meeting at Male airport they looked after us and got us to the island and checked in with a fresh coconut juice in hand and everything explained easefully with no stress. The... More

Although it's a very long journey from the uk, it's all worth it. I would have to say the accommodation at the Hilton Rangali resort is by far superior but the overall holiday at Royal Island is much much better. Food is fantastic, staff extremely friendly and resort brilliant. We were all inclusive and did think the prices people had... More

The service on this island is absolutely amazing, I am quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews that staff was not really friendly or management is bad. We had absolutely no issue, when we arrived, we filled in a form and in few minutes were escorted to our beach villa 212 by a lovely lady called Norma, any... More
