Managed to get a last minute booking for a romantic week away here at Biyadhoo for a bargain basement price. However, compared to many other Maldives resorts this has a bargain basement feel to it as well. Luckily, I booked all-inclusive and that was a bonus as I didn't worry about carrying cash with me. The island is quite unspoilt... More

Have just returned from 13th trip to Maldives and seventh to this island so you can tell how special this island is to me.The staff and reef make up for the slightly shabby and outdated rooms and review after review sum up peoples thoughts of this island- it truly is the marmite island you either love it or hate it... Very quick review - great food, service, island well maintained and kept clean, beautiful beaches and waters to snorkel in. The rooms when I visited in 2011 were basic but clean, nothing to write home about, good air conditioning. Be warned, the island gift shop is very expensive, bring enough suntan lotion with you!

I am not going to review the details of the resort as, I believe, that are set out generally fairly in previous reviews, but would like to concentrate on the major issues: Pros: Superb service from room boys, bar staff and waiters (thank you in particular, Ibrahim). The food is what I would call very high standard 'home cooking' rather... More

We stayed here for 2 weeks on my birthday. The staff are so friendly and the buffet is so good. Lots of curries, salad, pasta and dessert. We met so many people and we had party on the beach almost everyday until 3.00am. We saw turtle and jumping fish in the dark. The Island had one restaurant, bar, store and... More

Have been to Biyadhoo 5 time Maldives 13 still my favourite island such a welcome from the friendly staff. Sad to say the Management are more interested in dollars than their loyal repeat guests. Yes it's the day trippers, the majogvrity have no respect for reef, island, guest or staff, destroying the reef leaving dirty nappies on the beach etc.... More

just back from biyadhoo after our third visit. have been to many islands and this is the only island we have visited 3 times. As we go to the maldives twice a year cost is a big factor when choosing the island. Biyadhoo is good value for money. Yes the rooms are tired, but who cares. A bigger worry was... More

So many of you have seen the problems about the day trippers. A young Dutch couple on a day trip who came with trepidation talked to us. I asked where they came from, a hostel on the nearby island, after their visit they understood the problems here. The hotel is full at present and only 10 day trippers should be... More

Just returned from our fifth stay on Biyadhoo. Same comments as before (see previous reports)- tired rooms but who cares, truly brilliant restaurant and bar staff, wonderful fish and beach BUT its time for management to wake up and realise that they are endangering their livelihood by ignoring the damage being caused to the reef and also the tranquillity of... Just got back after our third visit. This island is superb, not luxury, shabby chic. BUT it is in danger of being spoiled by over-use. There are 90 rooms and when they are all full there is no more room for extra people on the beach or the reef. We travelled with Kuoni and the rep told us that the... More
