Went for dinner last night with my family. Service was OK, but the meals were awful. We had three starters, and three mains and we're not able to finish a single plate. The starters consisted of chicken and cod gujons, and whitebait all served on a mountain of the most bland salad one could possibly buy from the 'reduced' section... More

Had a sausage and onion baguette. Sausage very cheap and spongy. Hardly any onion and no butter on the baguette. The bread itself was nice. The Queen's Head over the road was packed. Probably tells you something. Will try that next time. Had upset stomach later that day, although conscious that may not be related.

Just stayed here on Saturday 1st August 2015 for 1 night. The room was nicely laid out & very spacious. Staff are very friendly & chatty! I asked for a hairdryer & got one asap. We had lunch in the pub, very reasonably priced & absolutely beautiful! Pub gets very busy, & staff all work very hard. We chose breakfast... More

We visited for the first time today; on the 31st July. I had high recommendations for the pub by friends,we certainly was not disappointed 😃. As we went to open the door, then very helpful lady opened the door for us,as myself and my mum are disabled, she then showed us to our table. All three of us ordered cod... More

Came here on a week evening when the place was almost empty to have dinner with a Groupon Voucher. The starter of small cod pieces was mainly made up of iceberg lettuce. The main course of salmon and jacket was in my opinion excellent and well presented. The house red wine was excellent. Would I return - maybe on a... More

Rooms clean again and staff could not be more friendly. Sadly feeling tired (and a tad sticky) in the bar. Lacking some good ales and fresh food. Breakfast VERY basic... Not even fresh milk!! Such a shame as amazing location. Second time staying and prob the last.

The menu is limited but adequate. The food was basic but edible. Accompanying salad relied heavily on Iceberg lettuce. The staff serving table do their best. The restaurant lacks atmosphere and could do with an uplift.

We have just returned from lunch at the Jolly Sailor, the welcome was good but food very average and dissapointing, although there is a sign outside saying its a 'dog friendly pub' and having had dogs ourselves in the past didn't realise this would involve a dog being allowed in the main eating area inside and sitting on one of...
