Stopped by for quick lunch. Menu varied and portions big. I had their signature jolly burger consisting of two patties, fried egg, bacon and cheese. Meat a bit tough but tasty. Chips were great. Companions had cod and chips which was lovely. Other item tried was baked potatoes with shrimp cocktail. Plenty of juicy shrimp. Finished with a nice cold... More

The only downside for us was being a 16th c building it was not easy for people with disabilities with the stairs etc.The pub however is accessible and when the weather is hot... More

Been going to this pub last few months and have had constant good food and service. Sunday roast is lovely and beer battered cod was delicious. Nice area outside looking over the quay when sunny. never stayed so cant say about rooms but would recommend for anything else.

Went for a drink here and decided to have a meal,we ordered burger and chips, the meat was dry and tasteless and the chips were aneimic and to be honest was not worth £9.95.however the staff were really nice, good service and would visit for a drink but definitely not to eat.

We spent a wonderful week including the 2014 Whitsun bank holiday weekend at The Jolly Sailor, and what a great time. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food and drink we're super. It was our headquarters for a week of hiking, sailing on one of the Thames Barges, visiting family locally, and it couldn't have been better.... More

Family commitments meant a visit to Essex but also wanted a couple of nights away. Staff all friendly and accommodating. Good beer and decent breakfast. Front bedroom smallish but everything you need plus great view. Rear room much larger and baby slept well in travel cot. Food was plentiful but far from ideal for cardio issues! My problem not there's!... More
