the Limes is a first class guest house. It is clean, smart, well decorated, well furnished and very comfortable. The staff are cheerful, friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is top-notch. I highly recommend it.

The hotel is in the very centrum, near to restaurants and historic pubs. The room is awsam furnished with a comfortable bed. I got a real home feeling. The breakfast is very good and the service is mindful. The price is reasonable.

Stayed here for two nights. The car park was pretty much full when we arrived. Unfortunately our room was on the ground floor right next to the car park so you could hear the cars parking up. We had to keep our blinds down and windows closed for privacy as we were by car park. We managed to check in... More

Have stayed here in the past with my wife but this was an overnight return stay with a group of my cycling friends, complete with our bikes. We were looked after very well after our ride from Cheshunt. The rooms were clean and tidy and well appointed. A good breakfast was had by all to start us on our way... More

I was booked here for a single night stay and what a wonderful little gem. My room was an add-on building separate to the main house close to the car park. A lovely, spotlessly clean room with separate en-suite shower and toilet area. The room had a double bed with bedside cabinet and clock, desk and chair with tea/coffee, a... More

My husband and I decided to stay in the main house as it was older than the other buildings. We were right on the main road, therefore, but were not disturbed by traffic. We were warmly welcomed although we turned up earlier than expected and shown to our room. It was well furnished and comfortable. There was a kettle with... More

My boyfriend and I decided on a last minute break away. We requested a four poster bed room which was lovely and even had a decanter of sherry on the dressing table. Some of the other rooms are in an annex. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the staff were really friendly.

We had to make a last minute booking and the Manager couldn't have been any more helpful. It was vital we had a wheelchair accessible room and was so relieved when we found that The Limes did indeed have an suitable room. Every disabled person has different access needs, these suited ours. I was with my husband, also a wheelchair... More

Swift polite welcome, choice of two rooms twin in quieter building away from the road or double in main building. Welcome drink in the room and excellent shower after a long day. Told of a few restaurants that offer a discount if we mention the Limes, Choose in timo, excellent Italian, see that review. Back to Limes after meal. Good... More

Maldon is an ancient town but not best served by decent places to stay. I had to find accommodation for visiting family for a few days and went to checkout The Limes on their behalf. The original building is nearly 300 years old and together with the new additions it has superbly appointed rooms. We needed a disabled access room... More
