Me and friends stayed for the rugby in cardiff due to there being no rooms in the city so we decided to find a reasonable alternative within half an hour journey and am glad we choose this place. Located directly opposite the train station, a very friendly welcome from the lovely staff and a really enjoyable stay. excellent breakfast and... More

Stayed here for one night while on business in the area clean comfortable room although maybe a little dated but I think the price reflects that.Booked a table in the Italian restaurant which was superb excellent service, food and surroundings. Will be booking to stay at the grand hotel on my next visit to the area.

Stayed here on business £40 B&B. Bedroom a bit dated (1970's/1980's perhaps it will be marketed as "retro" soon) but clean and comfortable. Spacious and decent light over a decent dressing table to work at. Very friendly staff. Didn't eat in bar, but breakfast very good. directly opposite the railway station so very convenient.

Generally all good, stayed in room 103 which was quite large with good carpet and furnishings, the only disappointment was the very small tv which only provided 3 channels. The restuarant offers a varied menu with 'two for £12' also occassional themed nights, house wine is reasonably priced and staff are quite friendly. This hotel is suited for contractors and business... More

I ate in the main lounge/restaurant at the Grand. in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. There is a a wide variety on the menu, of which i choose the gammon; a good size gammon with two fried eggs, side salad chips and peas. The staff were all pleasant and efficient. So pleased i called and priced at an amazing £6-95. It won't be... More

Thought the new sushi bar in side room of The Grand Port Talbot really is fantastic. They do good food and they have totally caught the magic of Japan and Asia. Try it out! You won't be disappointed at all.

As a regular to the Grand Hotel Restaurant I felt it necessary to write a review. Staff are always friendly and polite and generally cant do enough for you. The food and drink is superb value and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal. After sampling most of the dishes on the menu, my favourite has to... More

This was my second stay at this hotel so I knew what to expect, again I enjoyed a nice clean room if a little outdated, bed linen and towels were very fresh and well laundered and for the money paid a very nice experience.
