Stayed at this hotel 18th & 19th June, whilst it might not be the best Grand Hotel it certainly has potential, being a Grade II listed building, they are not the easyist to upgrade to modern facillities. The Hotel has just been aquired by new owners, who's intention is to restore the property to its former glory. The Hotel was... More

Perfect hotel for getting real Welsh hospitality. Staff were so nice snd helpful. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Great for cyclists. The area is worth promoting for cycle holidays and the hotel would go well to cater for cyclist.

As a one night pit stop - fits the bill, yep music till 00.30 on a Saturday and a bit of a lumpy mattress - but the room was clean, spacious and the staff are by far the best asset - welcome and helpfulness at checkin far better then many deluxe 4/5 star hotels that would benefit from such a... Oh dear. These days there is nothing grand about The Grand Hotel in Port Talbot. The building has certainly seen better days. However the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The room was clean albeit the overriding smell of both the room and hotel was one of well used cooking oil. Situated directly opposite the station made it convenient for... More

Stayed at the Grand whilst attending the Heiniken Cup Final in Cardiff. Although the place is a bit "tired", the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and plentiful, the room we stayed in was clean, and for the price, the stay was really, really good. Returned from the rugby to find the bar full and lively,... More

Located directly opposite the train station, a very friendly welcome from the lovely staff and a really enjoyable stay. excellent breakfast and... More

Stayed here on business £40 B&B. Bedroom a bit dated (1970's/1980's perhaps it will be marketed as "retro" soon) but clean and comfortable. Spacious and decent light over a decent dressing table to work at. Very friendly staff. Didn't eat in bar, but breakfast very good. directly opposite the railway station so very convenient.

Generally all good, stayed in room 103 which was quite large with good carpet and furnishings, the only disappointment was the very small tv which only provided 3 channels. The restuarant offers a varied menu with 'two for £12' also occassional themed nights, house wine is reasonably priced and staff are quite friendly. This hotel is suited for contractors and business... More
