one of the best hostels we've stayed at- super clean, they offer cheap and delicious dinners (a great way to get to know ppl), a beautiful, peaceful garden at back, free yoga outside in the evenings, the owner and staff are great with daytrip/multi-trip information/hikes, you can rent sleeping bags here too for overnight stays at refugios. A lovely place... More

Gf and I traveled for 4 months S America and this was the best hostel all trip. The restaraunt/bar brews great beer and Juan is an excellent cook. We would head into the mtns for 2-3 days and then spend a cpl days relaxing and recuperating at Casona. Great yoga classes twice a day, well stocked kitchen, hammocks with streams... More

This hostal is so so nice ! We usually travel in B&B but were more than happy to find this hostal. We loved everything there, starting with the very helpful staff, who kept on smiling even if we showed up with our 4 year old girl...:) The house is very cosy and charming, full of books, the warm light, the... La Casona de Odile is definitely in our top 5 best hostels we stayed at!!! And we have travelled a lot (we have been in over 40 countries each). We met a Swedish couple in Bariloche who told us they had the most amazing time in their hostel in el Bolson and recommended us to go there. Travelling can be... More

I wasn't sure what Casona de Odile would be like because it was a few kilometres outside of town but once I arrived all concerns were put to rest! The hostel is based on expansive grounds - there's a huge garden dotted with hammocks. The kitchen is decent sized and has actual ovens for baking or roasting! There's also a... More

This place is amazing and it is our favorite hostel in 1 Year travel arround the world. Yes it is not exactly in El Bolson, but a 10 min bus ride will take you there (and there is not much to see in town, after a day you've seen it all). Staying at La Casona it is in itself an... More

Lovely people. Tight knit group of volunteers who came and never left. Serene garden. Good food - definitely worthwhile eating in at the communal dinner and drinking the home brewed craft beer. Only downside is the distance from town if you are on foot and two bathrooms that are shared by many.

To be really honest, the first night here I didn't like it. The shared bathrooms didn't really meet my standard of clean and there was often a wait to use. The sheets and towels were clean but the floor needed a vacuum. But then I woke up and realized how small these details were in comparison to how lovely the... More

This hostel is magical. The atmosphere is incredibile. The staff is very caring and helpful all the time. The dorms, kitchen, restaurant, the garden... Everything shows off the love they put in it. You won't be able to go away from here. Best hostel ever.

How many times in your travels have you found yourself imagining the ideal place to rest your weary bones; a place that speaks the language of the merry traveler, understands the beauty of small comforts, and shares with you this same dream of the ideal place for any traveler. Can you imagine a paradisiacal park intertwined with winding canals that open into sparkling ponds connected by Monet-like bridges? Imagine a breathtaking backdrop of lavender plantations, hundreds of native and exotic trees, the river Quemquemtreu babbling by, and the majestic presence of the Andean Mountains looming above on all sides. If you can imagine all of this, imagine in it’s midst a beautiful wooden house, the vision of an artist, with it’s open, inviting spaces, grand fireplace and wood-burning stoves, the solarium opening up to the expansive garden, and with it’s dormitories and double rooms that offer the comfort and tranquility you have been longing for in your journey. Imagine now waking in the peacefulness of this place and rising to a breakfast of homemade breads and jams. Or returning from one of El Bolsón’s many lovely hikes on a warm summer’s day to share an artisanal beer in the garden with the other guests. Then come evening, imagine a delicious homemade meal, a pizza, a picada, or feeling at home in the fully equipped kitchen where you can whip up your own magic. If you can envision all of this, then you share our grand vision of what makes a hostel truly unique, and the dream made reality that awaits you here in Patagonia. ... more   less
