At first my party was doubtful about having no electricity at all during our stay at El Matuy, but as the days and specially the nights went by, surrounded just by candles, nature, sea relaxing sounds and very nice people, we began to feel we were discovering paradise! A place for adults to really disconnect and children to really connect... More

The perfect place to bring you loved one and chill between to intense (or not) treacking sessions. Just make a reservation, go there and let them do their things: playa, sun, waves and fine food. True story

Having booked El matuy and even after reading their website, we still were unsure what to expect. However on arrival all fears were alleviated. Utter calm, on the tail end of palomino beach. A welcoming sight of Palm trees, hammocks, the sea roaring and a welcome lunch of king prawns, rice, salad & plantains set us up for our four... More

I came solo to El Matuy and spent 4 nights 'Chez Tucci', the owner of this hidden gem. I don't think I've ever been so relaxed. The cabanas are well appointed, clean and perfect. The tropical ocean views and setting from my deck lounging in my hammock were extraordinary. Even the ice cold Aguilas tasted better. The walks down the... More

For travelers who love to relax in a natural setting, El Matuy is a great choice. No electricity or hot water, but plenty of palm trees, hammocks, bean bags and a huge private beach to help you forget about technology. Also, the staff makes you three delicious, healthy meals per day here so you have lots of time to explore... More

This place is sort of a fantasy spot where you can disconnect from the rest of the world and relax 100%. This is one of few spots where you enjoy nature, human interaction, detox from technology and daily stress. I was there for 4 days with 15 other friends and it was a fascinating experience. The staff is very friendly... More

Excelent food. Excellent service. Cabins in very good condition. The posibility of a huge variety of tours around the place, (waterfalls, river tubing, walks, birdwatching) is very interesting. Dinner under a big tree with candles and torches makes the experience priceles.

This hotel is one of my favorites ever. It is in a wonderful peaceful location by the sea. The food is great (having breakfast here by the shore is priceless). The staff are friendly and accommodating. The nature is great, especially for bird lovers. What more can I say?

We have been subconsciously delaying writing this review because we selfishly want to keep the magic of El Matuy our secret. My husband and I spent 7 glorious days at El Matuy this past December/January. While the deserted beach, comfortable cabins and delicious meals make El Matuy unique, the wonderful staff make it truly memorable. Prepare to disconnect (literally disconnect... More
