20/9/14..3rd stopover and 1st hotel in Italy... very nice family run hotel..Little English spoken...perfect! Good size rooms. very clean and very friendly. Well placed for piazza mercata where we spent a pleasant late evening drinking coffee and watching the locals/ familes enjoying a Saturday evening out. I spent 5 nights at the Hotel Corona attending a family wedding in Domodossola. Hotel family run and all the staff could not have been more helpful. Situated just outside 'old town'and perfectly situated to walk into the piazza mercata for aperitifs and strolling but easy access to station and private parking for more expoloration. Rooms varied, we had great... More

We stayed at The Corona one night, Friday night, so we could be in Domodossola for the Saturday open market (which was great, and now forward should have more produce as well). The Hotel is a couple of long blocks from the train station, and just around the corner from the Saturday market. The Hotel is a little dated, perhaps,... More

Domodossola lies between Stresa and Brig on the Simplon Line and has a beautiful old city. The best bet to stay is the Hotel Corona. A clean middle-class hotel with great service and a restaurant with wonderful italian food. Try to eat out back where there is a little garden with an out-door pool and a few covered tables with... The Corona very pleasant surprise. From the outside it may appear a little dust grained, like Domodossola itself, but once you cross the threshold you will be surprised by an excellently appointed 3 *** air conditioned hotel. Our room was very comfortable and perfectly clean. The back garden terrrace and pool is a mini-oasis and like the rest of the... More

We like Domodossola which we have visited briefly before, but this time was only for one night. And, our excellent EC express from Venice didn't arrive until 8.45 pm, so it was quite late when we checked in. Notwithstanding, we were served a magnificent dinner in the hotel's (covered) poolside area - love that genuine Italian cuisine! - and the... More

This was the 2nd best hotel of our 18-day Europe trip. Room was clean, quiet, and facilities was good. It was a very short walk from the rail station. And we had no problem finding it being in the town 1st time at around 9pm. What's worth to mention was the restaurant of the hotel was VERY good. We arrived... More

Since two years I and my family use this hotel for a few weekends in late summer. The main reason for the choice is that it is near the train station of Domodossola (Simplon tunnel), where you can pass easily in Switzerland for a day hike (Aletschgletscher, Matterhorn, Gemmipass, Andermatt ...) The hotel is 3 star and services are appropriate... More

This hotel is not spectacular, but delivers: - the room was clean and functional - very good, firm double mattress (not 2 single mattresses pushed together) - breakfast certainly more than adequate - reasonable price (80 euros incl breakfast) - quiet location (our room was to the back which looks out over the roofscape of the medieval town centre (no...
