This was a very relaxing place to stay while we visited Florence and the Tuscany area. It is only a 25 minute bus ride to Florence. So nice to come back here each night to get away from all the crowds. It is very basic, it is a former monastery, but the staff are so helpful and accommodating. And, the views were spectacular!

This whole trip here has been amazing! I stayed in room 24, and the room was spectacular! We had the double room so, because I'm the child, I had my own room. And I had an amazing view of Florence! The bed I chose was nice and comfortable. We also had great Internet! We had a college class come, so it was pretty strong for 23 people using it at 1 time. The bus station is super close so we don't have to walk far. Since I'm a 12 year old kid. I had an amazing time hanging out downstairs! For food they lay out some trays of food on the table and they set up the tables for us. (Because I'm a picky child.) I didn't really have any of the stuff out on the table. So, they made some spaghetti just for me. It's was so good. I would really recommend coming back here, and I enjoyed my stay. My dad has been here several times before but, this is my first, and I will come back many of times more!

We've been bringing our college, study abroad classes here for over 8 years! We love the staff and the monastery feel of the place. (it used to be a monastery). The views from our room are amazing! We are able to see almost the entire city of Florence from our window. This makes for a great experience sipping cappuccino and staring out our windows at the gorgeous view every morning. The food is excellent and the service is wonderful. We feel so at home here and will always make this our place to stay in Florence. The hotel is also located very close to a bus stop so it's extremely convenient to travel into town. The village where the hotel is situated is extremely quiet and quaint. We never have trouble sleeping and the rooms are very spacious. We highly recommend this to everyone who visits Florence.

You may find a chicken greeting you in the courtyard... and discover that this ancient monastery has kept some of its atmosphere, if you can bypass the vending machines near the entrance. This is no ordinary hotel: it's simple and almost bare, but offers the best view on Florence and the silence of the quiet countryside that, since Boccaccio's times, Florentines longed for.

It's located only 6kms (4 miles) from Florence. The many pros: location, spectacular view of Florence & service. The 2 gentlemen were out of their way to make us feel welcome: great breakfast & even gave us a tour of the church which is part of the structure. We stayed 1 night only. The place is more geared to what they specialize in: large groups (60pp) from schools & universities who visit Florence for longer periods for language & cultural studies. Even Though it was very clean, we were a bit disappointed with the room which does not compare to other ex-monasteries & similar structures we are used to in Europe. Non the less, it was a good experience.

This wonderful guesthouse around 10 minutes bus ride from the centre of Florence (Piazza San Marco) is highly recommended for anyone (groups, couples or individuals) looking for quick access into the city but a quiet place to rest in nature in the cooler hills above the city. The rooms are clean and comfortable with well fitted bathrooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast (included) is fulsome and delicious and served in an historic dining room. The managers are extremely generous and polite and have great enthusiasm for the place and the location (it is easy to see why!) For those considering longer stays for study or contemplation this is an equally excellent option given the extraordinary value for money and the calmness of the location. In all, a highly recommended option!

I stayed at Villa Morghen last fall for an extended visit. I loved every moment of it. The staff was remarkably friendly and accommodating and helped me plan excursions to the nearby towns like Assisi, Siena, and Pisa. The rooms are authentic and a good size and the villa is very historical and holds plenty of charm. The area surrounding the villa is also very beautiful and enjoyable to explore. The location is perfectly magnificent and almost every widow from the hotel has a stunning view overlooking Florence. That alone is worth staying here. Settignano is a very charming town with a small but fun town center occupied by a bakery, a cafe, and a quaint church. Downtown Florence is only a 30 minute bus ride away for a cheap 1.20 Euro and comes every 20 minutes.
