We found this place and thought it might be good to get some info on Mt. Fuji. Well, Michael just about yelled at us for wanting to do that. It's off season and very dangerous, blah, blah , blah!! Well, we only came to the area for that reason and that wasn't going to stop us from hiking the mountain.... More

We had an amazing stay at Michael's hostel. So friendly staff, I really liked the var, and they do everything they can to make you have a pleasant stay. Michael was really funny. They cooked food for us after the kitchen actually was closed, and they gave us excellent advice about what to do during the day. Also the localisation... More

Our stay there was alright it definitely has some advantages but the main issue we had was that as others have said the rooms have thin walls so you can hear whats happening outside. damm annoying when your trying to sleep and some fellow travelers are chatting in next room and you want to get up early to climb the... The hostel is located in Gekkoji. Really small in every part, you'll only find two dorms and some private rooms. Clean and cozy. Gekkoji is pretty far from Kawaguchiko. Looking behind, I would have booked near Fujisan / Kawaguchiko station, where you'll find a much better view of Mt. Fuji.

a great place to spend your time by Mt. Fuji. amazing views and great access to the mountain, pagoda, Fuji Q theme Park and the towns around the mountain. Amazing Staff, and Michaels American bar downstairs is a great place to meet locals and fellow travelers, while you feel like you are home! Different room styles available from privates, bunks... Fujiyoshida isn't as touristy as some of the larger towns in the area, which was refreshing. Hostel had a great view of the mountain, and although it was a bit small the price and location made up for it. Michael also owns the bar downstairs and was really interesting to talk to. Great thing is that round 10pm the locals... More

One a clear day you have a great view of Mt Fuji from the window. The dorm rooms however feel a bit crowded and would benefit form more storage room for backpack or anything else. Also the common area is very small and right in front of the rooms. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and there are some very... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here mid March 2014. We were in a private Japanese style room. The room itself was fine, plenty big enough and also had a small fridge. However the term private isn't 100% true, while there was nobody else in our room the divider between our room and the other private Japanese style room was essentially... More

Myself and my partner stayed in this hostel for 2 nights while we walked around the Mt Fuji Area. The hostel has a good location, within walking distance of 2 rail stations and you can see Mount Fuji from the windows of the hostel. The place was a bit small, our room was private and comprised of a set of... More
