This place has some mixed reviews but my friend and I really enjoyed it. It has its charms for sure, but the beds were clean and comfortable and the room was quiet and cozy. We were in town to catch a show at the Black Sheep and the motel was very conveniently located. We certainly got what we paid for.... More

I stayed here while attending and event in Wakefield. I was on the top floor. Clean and very adequate for what I was looking for. I found that the price was a little high for the room but the location was exactly perfect for me. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tip: bring a hair dryer Walking distance to downtown was... More

Not the most modern rooms but they are clean and have character. Great for a quick weekend getaway from ottawa. You'll really feel as though you have left the city and stepped into a charming 70s rustic Swiss ski lodge

We had a pleasant one night stay on a bitterly cold night. The king bed was awesome as well as the in room stove. It's not a fancy place but was quite comfortable. We had a great breakfast the following day. I would recommend this accommodation for a relatively inexpensive stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night in July because the Spartan Race website recommended it as "close to the location of the race". That was ALL this motel/hotel has going for it. Pros: location to the mountain. This was the closest we were going to get. Next time I will stay in Ottawa or Gatineau... Somewhat clean.... More

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to write a review about the Alpengruss Motel. I would like to respond to a couple of the points that you mentioned. The first is that the night that you stayed with us was a weekend that almost all of the motel rooms were booked by a group that organized... More

The sad thing about this motel is that the owners are really nice people and therestaurant where breakfast is served is goood. The first room we were given number 1 was so bad my wife wouldnt even open our suitcase, the smell of damp was overwhelming we arrived late after a long flight and drive so couldnt do anything untill... We stayed one night in June, we arrived late and left early so did not spend too much time there. Room 14 on the second floor; they was almost no one at the motel (although the owner told me it was his last room on the phone...) It was quiet, the bed comfortable, the sheets nice, the pillows good, private... More

My husband and I came for the skiing the area has to offer. This hotel looked decent from the pictures and was very well located (Vorlage is 2 minutes away, and Edelweiss about 10). It is walking distance to a number of good restaurants stores, cafes, as well as having a on site restaurant. We had a very decent breakfast... More

We stayed in Alpengruss (Room #15) for one night after a show at the Black Sheep Inn. Unfortunately, the room was not as nice as described to me over the phone and did not match the photos on the website. We were told we were booking a room with a king-sized bed and a fireplace, but the fireplace did not... More

We always stay at The Alpengruss every time we come to Wakefield. This is my second review but my first since the new owners took over the property. Just arriving home from our one night stay, on the downside, we didn't get a chance to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms....BUT we did stay in #2 (which was... More
