We have stayed at the chateau 11 times over 20 years. I was director of the Eisenhower Library and traveled there initially to help arrange the 50th anniversary of D-Day. The chateau is 15th, early 16th century, has all the amenities -- I call it first class rustic. The owner's mother headed a 2,000 person resistance group before and during... More

We spent 3 totally blissful nights at the Manoir. The setting is beautiful and everything was excellent: crisp linen, comfy bed, constant hot water, exceptional peace and quiet, scrumptious continental breakfast tailored to our tastes. Jacques was a very welcoming host who kindly made dinner reservations for us each night. We also enjoyed our chats with calvados and a roaring... More

We were a family party from three continents, looking for a special place to meet to celebrate a landmark birthday. The Moat House at the manor filled the bill to perfection. The Moat House was more than big enough to sleep ten adults very comfortably, with a huge and well-equipped kitchen that saw many a bottle of local cider happily... More

A beautiful chateau-like manor and former farm, lovingly restored, beautifully furnished. Home-made jams and yoghurt for breakfast. Completely charming hosts, Jacques and Alix. One of the best, possibly the best, chambre d'hôte I have ever stayed in.

There are three broad sorts of accommodation in the Bayeux-Bessin region: holiday-makers can choose from a range of offerings near the beach, urbanites can stay in Bayeux itself within walking distance of the cathedral and tapestry, or those wishing a more unusual experience can seek out the Manoir du Quesnay. A 15th century "fortified house," the Manoir remains a working... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Manoir du Quesnay (twice as a couple and once with our two girls). Jacques and Alix run a world-class B&B. The Manoir has several rooms in the main house as well as several more in the "boat house". Its location is perfect to visit all of the northern coast sites and is easy... More

we stayed at the Manoir for our tenth anniversary and loved every minute of our stay. Our room was lovely and enormous, the staff and hosts were all welcoming and friendly. I can't imagine another place that would have been as fabulous. Would return in a heartbeat.

After a long day of travel halfway around the globe, we couldn't have asked for a more fantastic place to stay the last couple days of May. We were a group of 10 exhausted travelers welcomed with a fantastic dinner complete with wine and an after dinner calvados. Jacques and Alex were even able to accommodate a gluten allergy without... OMGOOOOSH!! This place is absolutely fabulous!! We stayed May 10-12. The Manor itself was decorated so fantastically and was in pristine condition. Our room was located in the Moat as we reserved a family room. We have two boys ages 9 and 5. The family room was HUGE with three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a changing room right in front... More

Friends recommended Manior du Quesnay to us and we were so glad we followed their advice. It could not have been more perfect! The location is a superb base for touring the Normandy Beaches and Bayeux. As other reviewers have noted, Jacques and Alix are warm and gracious hosts and Jacques in particular a walking encyclopedia of history and lore... More
