We stayed in Mayo after our canoe trip on the Wind and Peel Rivers, and drove back to Whitehorse the next morning. The North Star Motel presented a wonderful chance to clean up and transition back to society, at a very fair price.

We stayed in Mayo so we could day trip out to Keno and get an earlier start to Whitehorse the next day. Not that we will be going back, but next time I'd stay in Keno! We chose this hotel because it is pet friendly. Definitely not a luxury motel. But there was a fridge/freezer, micro, and cooktop. Beds were... More

I gave it 4 stars not because it is a 4 star hotel but because it is true and honest to what it is and does it well. Not the most amenities but the rooms are very clean, everything works, internet worked great, and the new owners are very friendly. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because... More

Love the location and kitchenettes in these rooms - they feel spacious and fresh, very well maintained interiors. Always a pleasure to stay here! And having the "new" grocery store open extended hours gives you lots of eat-in options!

Knowing that this was essentially "the only place in town", we didn't have very high expectations when we reserved a room here. However, this turned out to be one of the most pleasant stays of our long road trip. It was affordably priced, immaculately clean, very quiet, cutely furnished, comfortable and quite spacious. Our room looked like it had recently... More

In Mayo for work and basically this was the only place to stay. Everything was pretty basic but adequate and clean. I tried to boil some water on little electric stove and it took forever - like 45 minutes. Otherwise, there was plenty of room for me to work and I appreciated the kitchenette being available to store the food... More

As part of our tour of Western Canada for our honeymoon we stayed one night in early June at the North Star Motel. I think it was room 3. The woman who served as was very helpful and friendly. The room was basic and clean. I believe it is the only place to stay in Mayo. If I had to... More

We spent 2 nights in Mayo at this 9-room motel. It may have been the only accommodation in this very small town. The motel is definitely an older structure with a stove/sink/fridge unit that made up the kitchenette. The room was small, but comfortable, though the mattress on the 2nd bed probably should be replaced (hot dog bed!). The shower... More
