This homestay was booked for us by our local guide as it's one of the "best" in the area. It's essentially a room with a bed in it and toilet tacked on to the back but it more than suited our needs. The room was basic but clean and it does have air con as well as a fan which... More

Our birding group stayed here three nights at the end of our trip to Sulawesi and Halmahera. By far this was one of our best lodges during the trip. Very clean, comfortable rooms with western toilets and a shower (yay!) and air conditioning! The food wasn't bad either. Very conveniently located not far from the Tangkoko National Park entrance.

Providing basic accommodation just minutes to one of the world's flora and fauna conservation area, Tangkoko Nature Reserve, Tangkoko Lodge is a great choice to stay in if you do not wish to travel the 2 hours journey before visiting the nature reserve. We arrived at Tangkoko Lodge in the afternoon and spent some time walking to the village and... More

Tangkoko Lodge is clean and comfortable for rural accommodation (even aircon or fan in rooms) plus fresh and tasty home cooked meals. It is close to the reserve and Bobby is a fantastic guide (he is now also training up younger guides). We saw more wildlife and birds than we could have hoped for in four days. Thanks for a... More

I recently stayed at Tangkoko Lodge for 3 nights. It;s a lodge with nice surrounding, comfortable room, good food. I saw a Yellow-billed Malkoha just outside the restaurant. It would be better with wifi and hot water. Bobby, the owner, promised to improve it soon.

Of course, coming from a nice resort or city hotel, one needs to adjust to the basic accommodation – but hey, you are in a small village with an amazing jungle in walking distance. We had a great time at the Tangkoko Lodge, the rooms are basic, but clean and have a nice terrace. The food was AMAZING, actually some... More

We visited Tangkoko Lodge as part of a private tour while staying in Lembeh. We left our hotel at 4 a.m. so that we could arrive at the lodge early enough to get in some good bird viewing. Before we were 5 minutes into the park our host, Bobby, had already pointed out 4 different bird species. We hiked through... More

Don't expect much of the Lodge, It really needs an upgrade! But the owner Bobby and his staff are very friendly ( Mr Kletskous ;-) ) breakfast , lunch and dinner is very good and fresh, we've eaten fresh fishes, fruits, nasi putih and goreng, salad en mixed vegetables, and off course coconutmilk with a straw. The arriving day we've... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to do some jungle trekking with a guide. The accommodation is basic but clean and pleasant to stay in. The owners are lovely and the guides amazing. It's not far to the black sand beaches where you can see the local kids playing and the fishermen bringing in their daily catch. They sorted out... More
