All of the staff where really service minded and positive all the time. Wonderful people. Some of them very musical so you get free accoustic concerts in the evening. Great bungalows for relaxing at the edge of the nationalpark. The jungleguides were amazing , did everything to make the best experience for the guests. We stayed two nights in the... More

Three of us stayed here in January 2014. Wawan and his friends took such good care of us I cannot thank him enough. The rooms are basic but does the trick. The food is also limited but tasty. We opted for a one day trek into the jungle and saw wild and semi-wild orangutans, gibbons, wild peacocks etc. At the... More

It was a really good choice this place, we had a great time there... the staff were kind, the food was delicious... and of course the trekking into the jungle and rafting the river down on the way back was the best experience ever. Bukit Lawang isnt the easiest place to find but once you get there you really feel... More

Loved our accommodations, loved the staff, loved the food/drink, loved the trekking. What more can we say?! We visited over the Chinese New Year long weekend. We stayed for three nights. We arranged a one-day hike through the resort which was the highlight of our trip. The guides were very professional, great with our young kids, and it was wonderful... More

We stayed 5 nights over New Year and really enjoyed it. Wawan managed his staff very well; a lovely team of eligible young men (I think they need more single women guests!) who can all sing & play music well and look after the guests nicely. We did a single-day trek with lovely guides, seeing 13 orang utan, gibbons, macaques,... More

Our trip to get in bukit lawang was a great adventure in the first place. The drivers that work for 'on the rocks' speak English really well and therefore geting there is educational and fun! When we arrived we where happy to sit back and relax (after the great 10 min. climb to get there) and for that they have... More

My wife and I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and can honestly say it lived up to all expectations. It's certainly worth the 10 minute hike up steep steps as when you get there it's so peaceful. Wawan staff were incredibly kind and friendly throughout our stay. From the time we emailed Wawan with our initial enquiries to... More

From the bus station you take a becak for 5 minutes and after it is a 10-minute walk steep uphill, so you start with a little exercise. However, the staff could carry your luggage if necessary. But once arrived, what a great place and relaxed atmosphere. It is located on the edge of the jungle, so frequently some monkeys are... More
