What an amazing place to stay. Once you climb the 259 steps up to the gateway of the jungle you are greeted by wonderful staff and an atmosphere that will take your breath away. Leni is the most beautiful hostess and Suria and Nanda were an absolute delight. Nothing is to much trouble for these people. On the Rocks was... More

This resort is different from the rest because it is not next to the river, but a steep climb up the stairs. The climb is quite a challenge every time you go up, but it's worth it. A great view, especially from the honeymoon room (not all the rooms have a direct jungle view) and the restaurant (delicious curry's and... More

I can highly recommend this place, if you don't mind climbing up about 250 steep steps up the hill. They will help you organzing the transport to and from Bukit Lawang and carry your bag. The accomodation is very good and there are only a few huts, so you best book in advance. Booking in advance is simple and they... More

On the Rock's is the type of accommodation you don't want to write a review about because it feels like a hidden gem, that should remain undknown to the masses, on the other hand our stay was so good we owe it to the team to give them a top ranking. Contact with Wawan (the owner) prior to our arrival... More

The walk to the top where the resort is, is quite tiring and once you're up there you're loath to come back down, but the rooms are set amongst the tree tops so you can monkey spot at your leisure. The staff are really, really easy going and friendly and the whole place is very pretty to the point of... More

It was probably one of the best weekend trip i had in North Sumatra. Although getting up the hundreds stairs were quite a challenge, but it was worth every sweat because the view from the top was just amazing and each of the rooms provided were all very unique with individual themes and settings. After a morning of adventurous jungle... More

After passing BIG palmoil plantations you are at Bukit L. Narrow villagestreet, river and some houses. We walked over the river and the up,up on the rocks. You pass the jungleline on the way. Monkeys play in the trees outside your room. Simple but nice rooms, friendly staff and nice jungleguides. Cats everywhere. We saw oran utans, black gibbons and... More

Stayed here with my boyfriend at the end if April. We loved every minute! The room was perfect and service was unbelievable. They arranges someone to pick us up from the airport and for us to do the day trek also. Loved every minute of our time here and would highly recommend it.

We arrived late at night in the rain, exhausted. We were met by a bunch of great porters who were well worth the money who showed us the way to on the rocks. We arrived after the 300 odd steps and at the top of the hill was a beautiful open restaurant with friendly people and a glass of freshly... More

The first night we arrived we stayed in a very nice hut on the Rocks. The day after we went with our guides Wong and Aldy to the jungle. It was amazing. Wong could tell us a lot about the jungle en we even met the lovely Mina... Maybe it's a good advise to take an extra matrass, because sleeping... More
