I loved everything about this place. It was peaceful, beautiful, and a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy the natural surroundings. The rooms are really comfortable, cool and the hammock on the verandah is a great way to relax. The food is delicious with plenty to choose from and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We only... More

This is my second visit to On the Rocks, and we will definitely be coming back for a third. It is hands-down the nicest place in Bukit Lawang. Nestled at the top of a hill on the edge of the rainforest, the perfectly manicured gardens offset the beautiful wooden bungalows. The rooms are simple which really suits the experience, and... After spending five nights in the Waterfall Room in January 2016, I left very reluctantly. It was a relaxing and memorable stay. The room was nice, with a hammock on the balcony, mosquito net and private bathroom (with toilet and cold shower). I saw monkeys, squirrels and plenty of birds from my balcony. The restaurant was good and staff very... More

Very high stairs, need 5 mins to climb to the hotel. Comfortable bed, cold shower, I am too small to reach the shower tap, need someone to help.Dont know... More

If you are looking to have a holiday in a relaxing and magic place that has not been really touch by the human stay here. No tv, no radio, almost no internet, just nature and a bungalow that has been made with a lot of care and love. We went with a one year old baby and has been one... More

Lovely place up on the rocks at the river side. The bungalows are very close to the center. It only takes 5 minutes to go there, but you are also directly in the jungle and therfore separated by all the busy stuff. The rooms and the hole place is made of wood directly from the jungel and just beautiful. It... More

We went dining here when we stayed in Kata Beach. Loved the ambiance, delicious food and stunning view! Recommended! Thinking of next time staying in one of the bungalows in the beautifull tropical garden.

We stayed here for a couple of days. The cottages are beautiful and in simple luxury. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is good. The coconut shower is FANTASTIC after climbing up the "famous" stairs or after your jungle trip.

Look folks, once you get past the thousands of steps (truly only about 250 +)!!!! This is THE best place to stay if you are coming to Bukit Lawang. The fact that it is on top of the hill means you get great privacy, terrific jungle views with monkeys right outside your room, and you can watch fireflies from the... More

We stayed at On The Rocks for 10 days, and did a jungle trek for 3 days. After spending some time in the village of Bukit Lawang, and seeing the other hotels, I can honestly say that I believe On The Rocks is the best place in Bukit Lawang. On The Rocks is located directly at the edge of the... More
