The guesthouse is located near the end of the Bukit Lawang 'street', so fairly quiet (at least in January, I've heard the town can get overcrowded in high season) and close to the national park! Very nice bungalows; somewhat back to basic with Asian toilets and cold showers, but well maintained and clean. Friendly staff and good food.

We stayed here for a week during our stay in bukit lawang (including the 2 nights we spent on a trek). We stayed in both a tree house and a bungalow during the stay. Staff are really friendly, chatty and helpful providing loads of information on treks and the local area/wildlife. We booked via email and got great information on... More

It's difficult to rate Green Hill, as we had an absolutely excellent time in Bukit Lawang, but more thanks to our trek than the actual stay at green hill. Communication was great ahead of our arrival and we had a 3 day trek booked ahead of time. We didn't however receive a kit list (I note someone below who had... More

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, the rooms are basic but you are in the jungle and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We did a trek through the hotel and the guides who took use were great, very knowledgeable. There are three small things we thought would of made our stay slightly more comfortable. It would be good... More

I stayed three nights in one of the treetop bungalows here back in September. Communication before my arrival was good, and I had no trouble getting there. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. I chose to do a 1 day trek, and while very difficult in some spots, overall it was definitely worth it! The food in the... More

The staff at Green Hill ensured that our two day stay at Green Hill was everything we had hoped for - we saw orangutans within an hour of starting our trek, and the lunch provided (Nasi Goreng or something similar) was amazing considering we were sitting eating it in the middle of a rainforest! I would recommend the trek with... More

We have just returned from our stay at Green Hill Guest House Bukit Lawang having left earlier than intended. We found the setting to be outstanding, the staff friendly and, unlike some reviewers, loved the cats which were, as stated by others, into everything. The communication with Andrea before the visit was also excellent. We had expected basic (simple as... More

Location was great, and the communication with Andrea was the best of any hotel owner/operator in Indonesia. Trek was arranged ahead of time via email, and was a total success. We saw wild orangutans and did the rafting down the river, along with a leech-filled trek overnight in Bukit Kencur. Green Hill and the employees were very professional and met... More

Dear Guest...thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are really pleased to hear that you had a good time with us and found us to be professional. We were a little bit surprised when you describe our rooms as being bare....it would be more appropriate and fair to describe them as simply furnished in order to... More

Location location location! You're as close as you can get to Bukit Lawan. Staff at the hotel were lovely. Room was ok, nice bamboo shower but a sink would be nice for toilet. We did a 2 night trip in the jungle and saw wild orangutan didn't need to see the feeding which is getting more and more expensive. The... More

We stayed here at the beginning of April'14 and had an absolutely fantastic time, thank you so much Pandi, Karim and Daddy Cool, Arif and all the others I haven't mentioned here, you were fantastic hosts. The bungalows are very basic and have lovely open-air bathrooms. When I say "basic" I mean that they have all you need while impacting... More
