We have been for 3 days in Bukit Lawang to do the Sumatra Jungle trek. The trek was very good even if it has rain all day long ! Imane our Guide was very nice and we trusted him 100%. The trek was quite hard to do but our guides were very helpful and nice. The night in the jungle... More

On a recent cycling trip across Sumatra, we stopped a few days in Bukit Lawang to experience the rain forest and see the (semi-wild) primates, especially the Orangutans. Green Hill Resthouse was our choice of accomodation, because we had heard their facilities and their guides were first-rate. We were not disappointed. The rooms were very affordable and comfortable. The food... More

We had a great time staying at Green Hill Guest House during our trip to Bukit Lawang in September 2015. We are a family of four (two adults and two young kids), and we stayed for three nights at the Treetop Chalet, which consisted of a double bed, as well as a loft that had a double sized futon. Both... More

I had the most fantastic holiday in Bukit Lawang in large part due to the effort made by Andrea, who owns the guesthouse along with her wonderful husband Mbra, in helping me plan my trip there! Andrea spent a great amount of time advising me and answering my many questions before I even got there. I spent 3 days at... More

This is the perfect place to start your Bukit Lawang experience. Its run by people who truly love and respect the jungle and all its creatures including the people. Fantastic views. Fantastic food. Fantastic crew. Local Culture and Nature come together here. I wish i could have stayed much longer with them.

We changed to this place to have an upper view of the jungle. The upper rooms have a terrace and anhammoc, and the shower is outside and comes from a bamboo pipe, super exotic! Sheets were clean, food was yummy cheap and abundant. Staff is very friendly and there are many books about conservation. You can see that they care... More

We stayed at Green Hill because of what the Lonely Planet (2013 edition) said about them. But after one night and a two day jungle trek, we wanted a bit more luxury. We only paid 100K for one night in the basic room above the restaurant, we had a beautiful view and a mosquito net, but we had to go... More

Dear Guest Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. If I could just clarify that you stayed in our budget room which is 100,000 idr per night (7 euros/ 5 GBP). It does as you say have an amazing view of the river and the jungle (national park) and it does have a shared bathroom with an... More

We stayed here one night before moving on to another much better place for the rest of our week long stay. Lovely people but this room was really poor as was the food. (Eat instead at jungle inn, SAMs or garden inn). The room was dark and dingy. The bathroom has a non flushing squat toilet and no sink to... More

Dear Guest, An interesting review. If I recall correctly you booked very last minute, fours hours before your flight landed in medan, as your preferred guest house cancelled your room at the last minute. Indeed we had several emails in which we really went out of our way to arrange the private car pick up even though you changed your... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in September. My second time here and I never get bored of it. The bungalows are rustic and basic, but very comfortable and the bamboo pipe showers are amazing. Wake up to monkeys playing outside - the brilliant view of the jungle or river from you private balcony and then wander downstairs for a breakfast... More
