We stayed here 2 nights, and our stay was memorable. We did a 5-hour jungle trekking and saw a lot of orang utans, as well as many other apes and animals. The guide we had was one of the best we ever experienced (ask for Udin!). Very friendly, good English, knows every bit about the jungle and species. We had... More

Rooms were large and comfortable, no hot water but after wandering the jungle that is irrelevant. They are building a new restaurant which will be magnificent, the existing one is good. Dinner was excellent local cuisine and very tasty. They will make a bland, insipid meal if you ask for one! Breakfast was very average. Grounds are extensive and clean,... More

Well presented rooms .. friendly & helpful staff .. restaurant has a great outlook over the river with the occasional cheeky monkey stealing food when no one is looking. The bathrooms had something different .. no tradional bath tub but instead a big urn (can't remember the correct name of it) where you ladled the water over yourself to bathe... More

Really liked this place - the door to the jungle so to speak. The people were really serviceminded and helped with everything. Make sure you book the new rooms and not the old ones - they are pretty warn out. Beautiful surroundings and you can take small walks in the garden. The restaurant are really good.

We stayed at Eco Lodge after our 2 night stay at Green Lodge (in the Tangkahan region) about a 2.5 hour drive along tracks whose distant cousins may have been called roads - it's bump after bump after bump at literally 10km an hour for all 2.5 hours through Palm Oil plantations. This region of Northern Sumatra - Bukit Lawang... More

We expected it to be fairly basic and that is what it was, in the best sense of the word. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The outside bathroom was fun, however we would have been happier to have a real shower - if only a cold one - but all we had was a pump and... More

We only stayed here for one night but would have happily stayed a lot longer. We stayed in an Orangutan room that was clean and spacious. The shower was cold but refreshing! We didn't sleep particularly well as the room was quite warm throughout the night but we knew that was likely to be the case when we booked. The... More

We stayed 2 nights (1 before and 1 after 2 nights in Jungle camp). The rooms are clean (with mosquito nets), the staff is really efficient and helpful. No air conditioning and no hot water, but it does not really matter. A perfect base to go and explore the national park. you can go trekking all day, come back tubing... More

Waking up in the morning of monkeys runnning on your rooftop. At night you hear all kind of jungle noises. Lovely place, great staff and a perfect stay for a jungle adventure. The guide told us: " If you're lucky, you'll encounter a Orang Utan!" I think we were very very lucky, as we saw more than 10 Orang Utans!... More

Set on the edge of the Sumatran jungle and among a beautiful and peaceful eco-farm this place is peacefulness defined. The surrounding Nature and trail systems are awesome, but even more awesome are the beautiful people who make your trip special. Everyone at the hotel greets you with a smile and friendly hello and will do anything to make your... More
