My husband and I stayed here in February, and we were extremely happy with our choice. The only negative is the 2 hour drive from the airport, but that is the case for most resorts we found...and we found it well worth the travel. Alma is situated on the most serene stretch of beach. The hotel is very private and... More

Visited Alma for Spring break. We have two children, ages 9 and 11. We had two (not connecting) adjoining villas, #5 (Ultra) and 6 (Maxima), facing the beach. 1. Site: the hotel is located 2 hours from San Jose, South of Jaco. It is on a strech of beach which is gorgeous and deserted. It is usual to be the... More

This place is one of our all time favorites along the beaches in this part of Costa Rica. As local homeowners, we now use the restaurant mostly, but had occasion to stay several times in the hotel before we purchased our home. First off, the villas at the hotel are something extraordinary. Each one is free stranding, giving you a... More

We walked down the beach from our ocean cottage next door. The restaurant is beautiful with thatched roof and torches around the perimeter of the lawn. We had sea bass and yellow fin tuna. My tuna was cooked to perfection. The waiter was patient with our broken Spanish and spoke perfect English!

My husband and I live in Costa Rica and were looking for a weekend getaway. We wanted to try something different from our usual beaches, but something close to San Jose. Well, we found it. We absolutely loved Alma del Pacifico. We actually stayed in a Garden Villa and a Beach view villa. Both were very lovely. The Garden Villas... More

The last hotel on our Costa Rican trip and another good one. The room was exceptionally large with a kitchen area. Coffee provided each day with water and beer in fridge and crips and biscuits. The bathroom was large with his & hers basins at opposite ends of the room. The shower is right in front of a picture window... More

If you want a quite, beautiful location on the pacific away from overrun Manuel Antonio/ quepos area and the noisy and surf crowds of Jaco, Alma del Pacifico is the place you want to be. The room we booked, villa 6, is very spacious, has a stunning view of the long stretch of flat sandy beach ( great for long... More

I had a business meeting in Costa Rica and wanted to bring my wife for some extra time of just relaxing. Groupon featured a deal at Alma del Pacifico that looked reasonable and provided the chance to stay at the beach. The pictures looked nice when we visited the hotel's website (but then don't they usually?) so with a good... More

This hotel stay was all that we had hoped that it would be. They upgraded our room from the Prima to a little larger room overlooking the beach. The room was beautifully appointed and the amenities satisfying. We stayed for 4 nights mostly spending beach time but did take a trip to Manuel Antonio State Park where we had a... More

Our first impression of this hotel was not stellar. In fact, I emailed my travel agent , Roxanne at Travel & Transport in Des Mones and let her know we were not happy. As soon as the staff at Alma heard of our displeasure, things began to improve! We found out that the hotel has recently been sold and is... More
