If you want a quite, beautiful location on the pacific away from overrun Manuel Antonio/ quepos area and the noisy and surf crowds of Jaco, Alma del Pacifico is the place you want to be. The room we booked, villa 6, is very spacious, has a stunning view of the long stretch of flat sandy beach ( great for long... More

I had a business meeting in Costa Rica and wanted to bring my wife for some extra time of just relaxing. Groupon featured a deal at Alma del Pacifico that looked reasonable and provided the chance to stay at the beach. The pictures looked nice when we visited the hotel's website (but then don't they usually?) so with a good... More

This hotel stay was all that we had hoped that it would be. They upgraded our room from the Prima to a little larger room overlooking the beach. The room was beautifully appointed and the amenities satisfying. We stayed for 4 nights mostly spending beach time but did take a trip to Manuel Antonio State Park where we had a... More

Our first impression of this hotel was not stellar. In fact, I emailed my travel agent , Roxanne at Travel & Transport in Des Mones and let her know we were not happy. As soon as the staff at Alma heard of our displeasure, things began to improve! We found out that the hotel has recently been sold and is... More

When our driver pulled down a dirt road off of the main coastal highway, I was pretty sure he was lost. Nope--at the end of the path, sandwiched between two pastures and hugging a wide, sandy beach, was Alma. The villas at Alma are well spaced out, and we checked into the most basic one, which was MASSIVE, before they... More

The area is quiet, wide expansive dark beaches and the most people we saw on the beach at any one time may have been 10 which was spread out over a half mile or so. we had the smaller ocean front room which gives you private access to the beach, private patio, all room have a private gate to their... We didn't stay here, but we did eat breakfast there once and dinner on another occasion. The restaurant is great, with a wonderful view under a classy palapa. The decorations are exquisite for a beach-front location as non-commercial as Esterillos. The hotel was impeccibly clean, even the bathrooms, and it looks as if all rooms have an equal view of... My wife and I enjoyed this wonderful property over the Christmas and New Years holiday. With so many hotel/resort options in this outdoor activity-oriented country, this place is just right. While not light on the wallet or purse, Alma delivers the kind of experience you imagine of a tropical Pacific setting, done with a touch of elegance and intimacy. Formally... More

Unforgettable trip! My husband and three adult children arrived at Alma Del Pacificao about 1a.m.. after a three day horror story of delayed flights, lost baggage, etc., compliments of the horribly incompetent Delta airlines. What a pleasure it was to arrive here at the hotel with its welcoming staff. Our rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, clean, and filled with small... More
