Many previous reviews are very descriptive of the current situation. A ghost town built for around 400 people with staff to serve around 50. No TV reception in rooms. No safe. Almost no cellphone signal and very poor wifi. Shortages of cutlery in the restaurant. Stained sheets. Leaking toilet cistern. Dirty walls in bedroom. Did have aircon, kettle, fridge and... More

Just sent two days at this Hotel for the first CGA Citrus Summit . Hotel is very clean , friendly service . Excellent facilities and very close to Kruger Park if you are a tourist . The dinning areas and outside areas are in typical African theme , thatched roofs , a lot of wood and natural stone . Sadly... More

Last time we came here it was the highlight of our holiday but something's changed...... First impressions were almost good. Aircon didn't work in the newly refurbished room but the maid found us another room that was dramatically better than that on our last visit....suitably impressed. Off to dinner and found that the restaurant had been refurbished to a high... More

The rooms have recently been refurbished and are not yet complete, only a few touch ups remain. That said the rate for the room was cheep so they made up for it.The beds are of the most comfortable and the room finishings are great. The restaurant bufet was nice and breakfast better. Staff are friendly and good. The resort is... More

Plus points - location to the golf course, freshly cooked breakfast and evening meal at reasonable prices. Recently refurbished comfortable rooms. Down sides - outside is in process of building making getting to our room from reception difficult to navigate in the dark. The restaurant had no sparkling water or red wine to have with our meal and this is... More

Don't be fooled by the website, as the actual experience at the resort(and I use that term very very loosely) is nothing like the glossy photos displayed. Management was non-existent,, staff untrained and unsupervised. Our original room was without running water in both the bathroom and toilet. And only one towel to be shared between two persons. We were told... More

I stayed as a single player at Hans Marensky Golf course and resort four years ago and I was overwhelmed. This was a very special place!! For my 34th anniversary, I booked the same room and golf outing for my wife and I. How time changes things. The golf course and wild life on the course are still fantastic and... More

This hotel is now much like a film set of a ghost movie! Where once there were guests, laughter, children playing there is now a spooky silence. Derelict buildings, part finished build projects, more security employees than guests, it has become a sad and tragic sight that greets your arrival. The main reception area is fantastic in appearance but it... More

We stayed at this hotel last week for an awards evening. On entering phalaborwa there was not one sign pointing us in the direction of the hotel and we ended up having to stop for directions at the army base. I couldn't believe my eyes on entering the gate, the grandeur of entrance is truly breathtaking. The porter was friendly... More

I stayed two nights at the Hans Merensky golf estate that is adjacent to the Kruger National Park. First things first, unless you have a GPS or a guide, donot attempt to find this place by youself. You will not succeed especially at night. I arrived at the Hotel late in the evening and I must say, that for such... More
