We stayed here for one night on our way into Kruger National Park. It is very convenient for this, being only five minutes from the Phalaborwa gate. In some ways we regretted only staying one night as we were very well looked after, the room was comfortable and the swimming pool just outside. Breakfast was excellent. The Bakkers are welcoming... peaceful, run by the owners (Dutch) who are totally in love with the country (which is very nice), very good breakfast, good and helpful service, nice pool, clean, spacious rooms and good location. Perfect for when you want to enter Kruger the next day. We were with two couples and had a lovely two-night stay.

This place is a good quality, peaceful B&B in the suburbs of Phalaborwa, only about 5 minutes drive from the gates of Kruger NP. The unit we stayed in was right on the margin of a beautiful little swimming pool, a great way to beat the heat of the day. Our room was quite big, a stand-alone unit, spotlessly clean... More

As a party of three, we spent one night in this lovely B & B before heading into Kruger. Our stay couldn't be faulted at all -from the friendly welcome, to the great setting and rooms, to the scrumptious breakfast. We had the two studio bungalows that front onto the pool, and from the door of our one we could... More

We stayed here for just one night before heading into Kruger. But we got a nice taste of this wunderfull location. We did some serious meat-shopping at the local Spar before arriving here. The welcome was very friendly, and Corina our host offered to store our meat in her freezer. The cottage was just right: quiet, clean and nicely decorated.... More

We had a short but excellent stay. We arrived very late (about midnight) and were greeted with genuine warmth and the offer of a cold beer! Breakfast was delicious and our hosts were gracious, generous and friendly without being overbearing. Not your average B&B experience. Very highly recommended. P.S. The aircon is fantastic and there is a great pool, a... More

We experienced a great personal and friendly touch during our two stays. (August 2011) Lovely clean rooms overlooking an inviting swimming pool, set in a well kept attractive garden. Close to the Kruger National Park of which Corina has a vast knowledge of and is more than happy to share with her guests. Corina proved to be a highly entertaining... More

This is a very nice B&B. They also arranged a great tour. Unfenced pool makes it unsuitable for young children, but otherwise is 5 star . Internet did not reach to the room but worked.

We had a wonderful stay at Bakkers in December 2010. This establishment, with its lovely clean rooms, beautiful garden and sparkling pool, is a tranquil oasis centrally located in Phalaborwa. Cees and Corina are wonderful hosts. The delicious breakfast is one of the highlights, served on the patio with a view of the birdfeeders, which are visited by an array... More
