There are so few choices when staying in Gränna and this was listed as a upper class hotel and it really tries to be. The location is quite good, it is a short stroll from the center with a bakery just across the street. Bought some local strawberry and blueberry, yummy. The hotel is in several small buildings, but the... More

The hotel is lovely and spreads over several small, old buildings. There is charming little courtyard where you can sip a drink or presumably have your breakfast if the weather is nice. We travelled with our dog and she was well received and supplied with a blanket and water and food bowls in our room. We stayed in the room... More

We stayed here for one night with out two young children, in Victoriasviten. The location is excellent, with a view of Lake Vättern from the hotel. There is even a small orchard and garden for hotel guests. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Our suite was in fact a small house in itself, very old, with low ceilings. The... More

It seems as if the new owner does not have the same feeling for the hotel as the old owner had. In our room (Victoria Suite) the good concept was "pimped" with details of bad taste like glittering shawls on the bed and fake flowers. The food was good but far too expensive for the quality and size of portions.... More

The location of this B&B was great with the view of the water. The rooms were bright, clean and very nice attention to detail. The hotel supported the "charm" of the location. Breakfast was very nice and with a good selection. A great visit on vacation and a "must see" city!

My husband and I stayed at this charming boutique hotel for just one night, as we explored Jönköping and Gränna. The hotel owner who met us was friendly and obliging. We got a room named Styrmann Karlsson which was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Unfortunately the lights in the room were a little too dim for map-reading. The standing floor lamp... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Amalias Hus is located in houses founded in 1769. Here in 1859 Amalia Ericsson baked the first red-and-white peppermint candy cane inte the world. Today a world known symbol and one of Swedens most popular souvenirs. All of the houses in the courtyard are protected as a national monument and our 19 rooms has uniquely been furnished with Swedish 18th century interior design. The original entourage and milieu has carefully been restored or preserved with the addition of providing a modern four star standard. With this said all rooms have a very high quality to make your stay with us as comfortable and memorable as possible. Our hopes are that you will be able to experience genuine Swedish picturesque culture together with the beautiful surroundings of Granna and lake Vattern. Note: All our rooms has a private bathroom and some of our Deluxe rooms have a private jacuzzi. They are also equipped with a wireless bluetooth speaker. Wifi is available in all areas and is complementary. ... more   less
