Hotel room was good and clean. The location is good. The only annoying thing was the staff. It's not all of them but mostly need training on manners and hospitality. I understand about the accent and everything as I am also from Kupang, but being rude and impolite is intolerable.

1. The room has one power socket only, and used by TV. Can't charge phone. This is superior room. 2. Bathroom water heater either super hot or cold. Can't adjust. Need 5 minutes to let water flow first. 3. Restaurant is terrible - I sat for 15 minutes, didn't get menu. Local beside me get menu. Food is drained with... More

Having lived in Indonesia for many years this is saying a lot!!!! My friend and I had the absolute misfortune of ATTEMPTING to stay at the Sylvia Hotel in Kupang not so long ago while making our way to and from Alor. My friend saw an advertisement for the hotel at the airport and thought it looked like a good... More

When I traveled to Kupang years a go. I trapped in one Hotel named Sylvia. The hotel is very standard, just for sleep. Yes, the staff is very nice (the know me because) but interior of the hotel is disaster! The door can not be open, the lock was broken and no room for me. The bathroom is standard. Nothing... More

As soon as I checked in, the staff gave me a room on the third floor. I stayed here for two nights. The first night around 8 PM, you can hear noise from meeting room on the fourth floor. I can hear shoes tapping the floor, people running and yelling. In the following morning, I asked if they can sound... More

It's a standard business hotel, so it's never going to be that wonderful, but Sylvia is a decent, safe, clean hotel. It has free wireless Internet, good laundry service, room cleaned well each day. Breakfasts good, although not that varied (we were there for ten days though). Good central location on several bemo routes so easy to get to and... More

We went here after we ran away from Pantain Timor Hotel, because it had bed bugs. We had stayed at the Sylvia hotel (chain?) in Maumere and thought it was fine. Because of our horrid experience at Pantai, we closely inspected the beds when we moved in at Sylvia. There were miniscule, nearly-microscopic bugs under the pillow. Needless to say,... More
