For our first few days the resort was overpacked if you want a good spot at pool or beach you need to go earlier. People reserve the lounge chairs all day restaurants were good but no one cleans their hands. I think hand cleaning should be necessity prior to entering buffet. Kids were out of control touching food with their... More

I will start by saying that I am 100% happy with Riu Jalisco: I got what I paid for, plus a little more! Carlos, who works 11 hrs a day, 6 days a week, mostly in the lobby bar but also in other locations, is the best and most attentive bartender we have met. Love Carlos! We had 2 rooms,... More

Positives: The resort is beautiful with well-kept grounds and lush tropical foliage and palm trees. The food was amazing with a huge variety, generally helpful staff and very good customer service, plus gorgeous views of the ocean and mountains. Negatives: 1) tile floors often slippery when wet, (we saw a number of falls) 2) About 80% Mexican tourists, which we... More

We stayed in the Riu Jalisco for 10 nights. First impressions were great, friendly staff, nice decor, recently refurbished and a bonus having a separate room for our 17 yr old. Unfortunately as the week progressed, things declined. The rooms did smell musty so we tried to keep air flowing through. The pool seemed to be constantly full of flies,... More

I am finding it difficult to write this review because there is nothing really bad or exceptionally good about this resort. I wanted to champion for this resort after all the bad reviews but I just had a sense of disappointment at our stay. I agree with Todd10260’s review...our stay was alright. Yes, the grounds are beautiful. There is a... More

First, a BIG THANK YOU, to all the staff at the Riu Jalisco. We have stayed there 3 times in the last 2 years, before and after the renovations. I would like to address a few concerns that I have read from other travellers. 1. The Locals. Locals do go to the hotel on the weekends. It's Mexico, they have... More

Now if I had this to do all over again I am pretty sure I would have booked the RIU Palace just down the beach. Not that we didn't have a good time here it just seemed that it was very busy. Pool was like hot tub water and packed so you could never really cool off. Shows at night... More

We had a great time here, even though this was not our normal way to vacation. We have not been to many all inclusives but this one had many positives. First of all it is clean. You see people working hard at the resort day and night. The grounds are very lovely and well maintained. The rooms are clean and... More
