When booking our hotel in Amboise, this hotel was actually our second choice (no rooms available in our first choice). After staying here, I would definitely recommend it above any other hotel in Amboise. The exterior is a gorgeous castle, and the interior also does not disappoint. Our room was HUGE, beautifully renovated with lovely decor. There was a bit... More

We spent one night at Chateau de Pray and fully enjoyed it. The service was great and extremely friendly. We loved our superior room (to which we received a free upgrade!), as well as the common parts of the castle. Breakfast was perfect, high quality food and so much choice! Too bad we could not have dinner at the hotel... More

This hotel is very special, intimate and yet with great service. The history of the property makes it even more attractive. The restaurant is among the best in the area. Do yourself a favor and eat at least once there. I'm going back for sure.

We stayed in one of the smaller rooms. It was perfect. We had a window facing the back. It was like looking at a postcard with gardens and horses in the background. We sat on the terrace with our wine before dinner and was surprised by the wait staff delivering an assortment of appetizers to us without having to ask... More

It's a trap, the exterior of the castle looks beautiful. But once inside, you see that the whole isn't tastefully decorated. With courage we started the dinner. Unfortunately, the chefs of this restaurant wasn't what you expect. The starter was a jumble of flavor combinations and looked ugly. The following courses were slightly better but did not reach the level... More

Stayed the night of 28th August , Easy to find, free onsite parking, 2k from Amboise, overlooks the Loire valley, lovely grounds, heated outdoor pool, very comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great food. Sitting outside in the evening on the terrace with a glass or two before dinner, with lovely views, oh how I wish I was doing just that rather... More

If you feel the need to stay in a chateau in Amboise this place is OK so long as: (a) you do not need any help from the hotel staff; (b) you do not plan to eat in the restaurant; and (c) you are not American. We found the staff to be arrogant and unhelpful. We had a minor travel... More

A perfect place to stay while visiting the Loire Valley. Our room was in the chateau on the third floor, No elevator, so a bit of a problem with hauling luggage.Even though the building itself is old, the room was updated, clean, elegantly furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom is marble and modern. The staff is very accomodating. We enjoyed... More

This is truly a lovely old chateau, from the 10 th century. Our room was on the third floor, which of course the French call the second floor. Important... There are no elevators, just lots and lots of stairs. We knowingly booked a small room and got a small room which was fine but pricey. Perhaps there would be less... More

Five Stars 😻😻😻😻😻 Stayed in the back stable, good enough for Jesus, good enough for us. The Hotel is very well run. The staff are very well trained to look after their guests. We choose to stay outside as we had a granddaughter with us and they are larger rooms. Booked into the restaurant prior as they sit Max 30.... More
