we stayed in a superior room, which had a really comfy bed and was well appointed. The chateau itself is lovely with great gardens and some beautiful original features. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked great and was full each night. We looked at other rooms before leaving and all were super. The breakfast was very good.... More

The staffs were very sweet, friendly and helpful, including the cleaning crew. My room was lovely in pink, overlooking the garden on the top floor as I previously requested. The bedroom has an old castle feel and the bathroom is updated to the modern standard. Amboise is a small town. I didn't do research or book a car (since I... More

This was a magnificent experience. The chateau is slightly outside Amboise and is very quiet, wonderful gardens allowing for walking or a chat with the chateau cat, which seems to be at least bilingual. The restaurant is superb and the restaurant staff were great. Wonderful to be visiting as a solo traveler and to be welcomed. Loved the Sancerre and... More

The beauty of traveling in France in the spring is that you often are one of just a handful of guests, which made us feel like we were truly living at the castle. Our room was so spacious, and the chateau's thick walls led to an arched window that looked out on the gorgeous lawn and territorial views. Spectacular. The... More

Property was exactly as described. We wanted romantic old world charm with exquisite cuisine - and that's what we enjoyed for 4 nights. We had a small room in the turret (by choice) with a perfect view of the manicured gardens and the Loire Valley. The restaurant/chef carries a Michelin star and deserves the recognition. Food was superb and the... More

We had booked a superior room for two nights. The room we were given was approached by a steep staircase and was small and lacked easy chairs and adequate reading lights. The public rooms in the hotel comprised a restaurant, 'tea room' with tables and upright chairs and breakfast room, but nowhere to sit comfortably and read. Since it was... More

Dear Madame, Monsieur, We thank you for taking the time to write a reviw about your stay at the Chateau de Pray. Concerning the room, you have to know that all our rooms are differents. For example if you choose the junior suite (which is our more expensive room but cheaper than the 'Château de Montreuil' rooms) you will have... More

We knew from the start that staying in the chateau would not be cheap but did expect a good level of service. Have to say that the service - particularly at the bar/restaurant - was appalling. We had to wait a long time to be served and when we were eventually served, the waitress acted as if she was doing... More

Dear Madame, Monsieur, We thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at the Château de Pray. We are sorry to read that the bar service was terrible for you. I made a point with the lady on charge of that part of the service in order to avoid that sort of situation. I am... More

Just returned from Chateau de Pray, a wonderful experience in the Loire Valley. Located 1 mile driving from the quintessential French town of Amboise- on beautifully manicured grounds, this little slice of paradise was top notch! Offered elegant and comfortable accommodations, gorgeous views of the Loire Valley and excellent personalized service. Not to mention, the Chateau dates back to the... More

The room was nice, spacious, the view was beautiful, the lawns expansive. However it is cut off from Amboise town where the Chateau is and one has to take a taxi . The Hotel itself in a small chateau is very pleasant . We reached in the early evening after visiting Amboise itself only to be told that there was... More

Umm........... not sure how to write this............. sounded great and booked via C&HC, rather dopey staff on arrival and no bag carriers, rooms in old chapel and in stables. Rooms were beautiful but we have seen more beautiful ones. Dinner very expensive and so we went out to Amboise and would recommend the Pizza restaurant. Nice pool but rather difficult... More
