Travelled for my honeymoon in July 2013. It was mesmerizing. For us to start our new lives, this was a really wonderful place. We enjoyed every bit of our stay there. It's tough to describe the experience in words. Please visit this place, I am sure anyone who loves the Himalaya will love this place.

Like most of you reading this article, I'm quite fond of traveling - especially discovering new places, not the popular / touristy ones, rather little adventurous. Recently stayed at Dunagiri Retreat for 2 nights and 3 days with my family (including my 2 year old kid) and we had a fantastic experience. Whilst the remoteness of the place offers a... More

I spend a lot of time travelling in Uttrakhand, majorly in the Garhwal side of it. Rains are my favorite time because it brings out the best in the mountains. The river run at their wildest, every stream has water and greenery and beauty can never be captured in words or pictures. What happened in and around Ganga this year... More

Recently visited Dunagiri with friends and had an amazing time! Dunagiri is beautiful and peaceful, and simply one of the best places to visit in India. I thank the friendly staff and the caring and helpful host, Piyush uncle, for making my trip so wonderful.

I recently visited Dunagiri Retreat with 5 other friends and on the whole it was an amazingg trip! I think some of the most uniquely significant things about Dunagiri Retreat would include its beautiful architecture (which is so close to nature, with the use of locally available stones and wood, and it feels as if every peach tree and rose... We were looking for a quiet and peaceful place for a family holiday. Had zeroed down on a quaint little place in himachal , done our tentative booking there, and suddenly came across this website of Dunagiri. And it was as if we were destined to go there, everything started falling in place and finally on a nice day of... More

In my whole month in India, this magical retreat sanctuary was my very favorite part of the whole journey which was great to begin with. One can feel the love in every inch of the property and we were blessed with the most wonderful host Pandajit, who cooked for us the most divine cuisine, brought special tea to us first... More

If you're looking for real peace and quiet, with literally no other civilization near about, this is your spot. The resort is a small set of cottages nestled in the hills in Dunagiri, which is about two hours away from any town of note (Ranikhet). Their idea of a welcome drink is juice made from local flower pulp. Their idea... More

Ten days was too short a stay. I could have spent a month, and hope to do so another year. Where to begin describing how special Dunagiri Retreat is? I wanted silence and solitude for a spiritual retreat in the holy Himalayas. Here I found the perfect hermitage for my sadhana. Location. Architecture. Original art. These three play together exquisitely.... More
