We too were caught by surprise in the change to a recovery facility. Should have read these reviews before staying. My husband and I have very stressful jobs and this is our one chance to put it behind us and relax. Yes we need some serenity to de-stress....but an addiction recovery facility is not quite the serenity we had in... More

As Red Mantle Inn came recommended by some friends, I eagerly booked the vacation back in April in anticipation of our vacation in Gros Morne National Park. Yes the staff was helpful and friendly with excellent suggestions for restaurants in the area. Yes,the views were breathtaking and the rooms very clean and spacious........Hmmm but I guess the first clue was... More

The Red Mantle Lodge was our base for the Green Gardens, Lookout and Tablelands hikes as well as visits to Woody Point and Trout River. The rooms are large, comfortable, spotless and all have great views of Bonne Bay. We spent some time talking to the owners and they couldn't be nicer.

This hotel provides a solid base from which to hike the many beautiful trails of Gros Morne. The southern arm of Bonne Bay is ruggedly beautiful and I recommend this hotel to future visitors as a clean, affordable spot with wonderful, charming hosts.

The Red Mantle Lodge was recommended to me by family members and friends, and they were right on the mark. In short, it was one of the loveliest hotels I've stayed at and we had a brief but very enjoyable experience there. Not only is the location breathtaking, with a view of a majestic fjord from the lovely dining room,... More

I stayed at the Red Mantle Lodge in Shoal Brook. First of all the view is awe inspiring. The staff is the usual Newfoundland friendly and will answer any question with complete honesty and completness. I very much liked staying at the Lodge. Just to let you know so you are not surprised, the water has a high mineral content... More

My husband and I were nothing but impressed with the Red Mantle Inn. At first it seemed a little out of the way but turned out to be perfect for hiking Tablelands, Bonne Bay, Green Gardens, Trout River and spending time in the Discovery Center. Darlene and Rodney, owners, are delightful and helpful in every way to make your stay... More

We stayed at the Red Mantle Lodge for our last night at Gros Morne in order to be close to the south side of the Park. While you can see across Bonne Bay to Norris Point and the other side of the Park from which you do the Western Brook Boat tour for eg., it is no small feat to... More

My husband and I stayed here July 28th. When we go back to Gros Morne, we'll definitely stay here again. The lodge is beautiful and the view is outstanding. The restaurant is nice, with the same beautiful view. We had the fish and chips, and it was delicious. The staff are friendly. Check-in and out went smoothly. The rooms are... More

We stayed in the Red Mantle Lodge during a long weekend (Aug 5-7, 2012) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lodge itself is beautiful and provides a commanding view from it's front deck. Check-in was smooth and efficient, our room was impeccable and we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which included dishes providing a local flare. Nikki, our server,... More
