Wow. What a fantastic place to stay. The house and surrounding grounds are stunning. Absolutely deserving of being the number one rated accommodation on TripAdvisor. The family are lovely people and so hospitable. I really will miss the time I spent with them and I have some special memories to keep forever. I ate dinner each night with the family,... More

A family trip to Kumarakom was long overdue and we had heard very favorable things about past experiences from friends who stayed at the Kodianthara Heritage Home hosted by the lovely couple Mr Crispin and his wife Soni. Right from the start we were taken great care off. From being escorted to the home by Mr Crispin himself (through narrow... More

Where money is the only driver in hospitality business these days, Mr.Crispin & family stands out in the crowd & you hardly find holiday homes like this. You can count on his advice to travel around, shop, eat, spa etc. .Very genuine with no hidden interest whatsoever. The heritage home is fantastic.... takes you back a 100 years, very welcoming,... We stayed here for four nights, and we're able to get a real feel for the way of life on the backwaters. Chrispin is a very gregarious and interesting host, and his wife Soni such a lovely person too. We enjoyed their company, and appreciated the fact that they both speak such excellent English. We found their house and garden... More

We should have called for directions since this wonderful home is located within the maze of houses in Kumarakom where streets are not identified with signs and the buildings have no numbers. Crispin gently chided as he helped us to our room. It was rustic and initially disappointing. After our flight from Mumbai, our tired and weary bodies had looked... More

We had a lovely 2 nights here. The house had been beautifully renovated by Crispin and his wife. The food was delicious and the hosts were very welcoming. We just pottered around on a couple of local bikes (which suited us very well) and relaxed. There were some lovely fellow guests to chat to as well which made our stay... More

Great location, well maintained heritage home, and entertaining conversations that can go on and on! Enjoyed the traditional Kerala food. Loved every bit of it, including the roads by the canals, the sharp turns, the quietness disrupted only by crickets and so on. A pity that we couldn't stay for more. Thanks for the travel and shopping tips for Kottayam.... More

My stay at the Kodianthara Heritage Home in Kumarakom was really agreeable. Both Crispin and Soni are very personable and made me feel like part of the family which is rare. Crispin was very helpful and I enjoyed my discussions with Soni who is a teacher like I am. Their home is a marvel, a renovated, traditional farmhouse which has... More

A nice traditionally built heritage house (naalukettu) where you can relax and enjoy the freshness of nature. They have there own houseboat service and a small boat(thoni) which you can row through the canal close to the house. Great service and hospitality provided ac rooms and internet access. Wifi not provided.

This is the sort of place that grows on you. The ambience, people, hospitality, food combine to give you a quiet and peaceful holiday. It was enriching to learn a bit about the family and community's cultural history and heritage. The houseboat was an enjoyable experience and the kids spent hours watching the 'water life' in the pond within the... More
